No...In my Alden's I haven't slipped either...On ice last winter too....It felt about as dangerous as walking in my other boots..No more or less...
It's something to consider, but I'd suggest only if you're prone to sliding or falling fairly normally in Winter......Some people walk with straight legs and a longer gait which could lead them to being more likely to slip...So it's a warning...
I didn't find it an issue overly....No more than my Timbs..

I'm no more prone to falling than the next man...I think it is something to consider..being the way that some people walk compared to others. I am planning on the real big test in the next few weeks as I am going hiking in my boots. I guess the test of the flat soles will begin!!
