Anyone know how to distress a Dorfman Pacific in a style similar to the Streets of Cairo hat by John Penman without damaging the hat itself?

By distress do you mean getting the hat dirty, or to actually shape it into the SoC style?

not reshaping (probably isn't possible) just getting it dirty.

Oh. That's a real cheap way to make my Dorfman look better!

Nevermind on the distressing ill just keep this as a dress/clean hat for use with my gear but not actually getting it dirty.

If I weren't as well versed in Indy gear as I am today, I would say that looks like an authentic prop hat. Amazing what some Fuller's earth will do. -Josh

My cousins say that it is an Indy prop hat. Oh, so much they don't know Also California, that's a nice fur hat, especially for a Dorfman, but just a leetle underdistressed.

Maybe if you put an extra 1/4 inch and added some on the pinch, sweatband & brim, it would look even more realistic.
