Okay, with them all lined up like that, I can clearly see that Tone's Aramark crap is my favorite. The Dickies shirt comes in a close second for me, but still second nonetheless. -GCR

I like both the Aaramark and Dickies options, but Aramark only offers the embroidering option for the front left pocket. We could submit a custom logo for them to use, but it wouldn't help with the "Air Pirates" part on the back. The embroidering on the front would also be directly on the shirt, with no extra patch of material under (as best I read the infomation anyway). If we wind up sending these to a third party to have the printwork done on the back, they might as well do the front too. Finding a third party to do the lettering might be pivotal in making a decision, based on expenses and shipping. Along with the Aramark and Dickies shirts, I also like this choice: store.diamondembroidery.net/biblprmecash.htmlKen

As far as shirt colors go I like the Dickies color over the Aramark. I own a few Dickies shirts and they're both durable and comfortable. You can't go wrong with them. The Aramark material leaves a lot to be desired and the color on that shirt screams..."Hi, I'm here to clean your toilet".

I have to go with the Aramark too. The Dickies although having a nice color would not show off the lettering as well being a darker shade of blue.

PS: Where did I put that darn toilet brush? ;D

LOL, GMann. I like Kens shirt as well, but couldn't figure out how to make a big enough pic for the thread. Think you can add that in some way, Ken? Also, the link for the Aramark won't work, no matter what I try. It works in Tones post, and I copied it directly from there,...and nothing. Any idea?? 'Blues

Well, with "Air Pirates" on the back, the shirt might not be as easily mistaken for a janitor's shirt...unless people think you're there to clean the toilets on an airplane ;D As far as material goes, if the Aramark shirts are unconfortable against the skin or something, there's always the option of throwing a T-shirt on underneath...heck even ol' Jock did that, so you'd be screen accurate to boot! ;D -GCR

That's how I would wear it, anyway. It would look real dorky buttoned up and tucked in. All you would need is a pocket protector. 'Blues

I would be more concerned with them screwing up the wording on the back of the shirt. I mean here you've got this blue janitor shirt and on the back they mispell the word and it turns out saying "A$$ Pirates" or something. ;D

I fixed the link in your original post IB, but here it is again: www.aramark-uniform.com/q1msn/style.html?assort=public_assortment&style=102#My initial feeling when viewing the Aramark shirt is that of a gas station attendant or "Hi, I'm here to clean your toilet" as well. The added lettering might help with that a bit, though. I'm not sure how long the service/uniform shirts are, but they might also be too long to leave untucked. I hate when they cling your butt because they are fitted for working and should be tucked in. The biggest concern I have with any of these will be where to get the printing/lettering done. Aramark doesn't do stuff on the back according to what I read earlier, which means the shirts will have to go to someone else at some point no matter which kind we all get. BTW, here is the pic link for the shirt I added, but it won't post here without clicking the link: us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-75550405027941_1934_137348Ken

There is also the option of everyone getting their own shirt, in the style they like, and we can then send them all to one place for the rest of the work. OR, we can find a place that sells the letters, and purchase them in bulk. Disperse these out to the individuals interested, and they can get them done on their own. Just an idea. Speaking of the letters on the back,.....I can't seem to find letter patches ANYWHERE online. Evrything I find seems to be embroidered onto a piece of felt, that would be sewn on the back, like a sports uniform. This part may be the trickiest aspect of the shirt. 'Blues

Another shot of the Aramarck shirt. I think this one is very close but the color seems a bit lighter in the film...more of a sky blue. But, we know how that goes.

I've learned from a reliable source that no brown or blue shirts were made for the film, only gray.
I was hoping he could come on here and share his information about Jock's gear but he's busy having tea with Tom Hanks.

Let me throw a wrinkle or option into this idea. I found a bowling shirt website that will embroider or silkscreen names or logos on the front or back of their shirts. The shirt I am proposing for this option is 70% silk / 30% cotton. I know we talked about the fabric, but since this was available for the printing too, I had to mention/show it. www.bowlingconcepts.com/shop/men/traditional_button_up_mcs533.shtml#colorsThe shirt is $37.95, but that looks like it includes the embroidering or silkscreen work too. I know it only has one pocket, but it still looks like a nice choice to me. What do you guys think? Ken

Those shirts you just found RB look very soft and have a nice drape to them. The light blue color isn't half bad either.

I like the new find, Ken!!! I guess I really have to re-examine my motives behind getting a shirt like this. Personally, I'm not going to use it as a real work shirt, as what would the point be in wearing what is essentially a costume replica shirt while changing the oil in my car? And I'm also not the type who would buy one of these "Jock" shirts merely for the strict costume replica aspect of it, either. I have no plans to put this shirt on a lifesize mannekin or have it framed to hang in some vast Raiders collection. I want this shirt to wear around, as a cool sort of novelty shirt, that very few folks (besides a few others here) would own / wear / or even recognize the significance of. So, considering all of that, a shirt like the one you have just posted, Ken, might work out to be the best after all. We can get the names (or handles or whatever) done on the front and have the Air Pirates done on the back, all for one decent price. The color looks good, and the whole single pocket thing doesn't bother me, really. The construction may not be suitable for a work shirt, but like I said, I wouldn't use it that way anyhow. If anything, it will probably have that screen-accurate wrinklyness and drape to it. ;D So anyway, big one of these on your new discovery Ken. I think this may be the way to go... -GCR

I agree, I'd wear it as a casual shirt as well. No one will get the connection, but fans of the film. Heck, even average Indy fans won't get it. Pitfall even stated he never noticed the "Air Pirates" on Jocks back. This one will be a real sleeper. 'Blues

I guess I'm still a little unclear what these shirts are supposed to be. Are you guys looking to strictly copy the shirt as seen on film or is this going to be some kind of hybrid where stuff is added like the handles and the name of the site?
If it's something more as a novelty and to acknowledge the Lounge then I personally would rather take a shirt like RB just posted and do something like what I suggested at the beginning of the other thread.
What I have in mind would probably be to expensive anyway as a group type of thing. Maybe if I have the time I'll use PS and do a mock up of what I had in mind just to share with everyone.

I had to think about what I would really do in a customized "air Pirates" shirt too, and to be honest.... working in it just wouldn't happen. I would wear it to most other types of activities, but not to work in. I was really just searching for a place that could handle the printing too. It seemed like there had to be a place with a shirt that was very close and still offered the custom options.
That being said, I like this option the best.... simply because it's one stop shopping for the lettering and fits better with the places I would wear it. One of my concerns in all this was how much the finished product would cost with shipping included, especially if a third party is involved with the lettering. I think this (though still not cheap), would probably still be less than using a different company to do the lettering.

Well, I'm not sure about everyone else, but I'd essentially want the shirt to have the "AIR PIRATES" lettering on the back and either my initials (which is also my internet forum handle: GCR) or my first name on the front. I don't want the shirt to say "Jock". Like I said, I'm not gonna shoot for the strictest screen accuracy with this one..life's too short for all that anyway. So those are my intentions, I'm not sure I'd want the "Indy Lounge" name anywhere on it, though. For an official "Lounge" shirt, we'd all be better off designing a new style shirt from scratch I think...but I don't think having the lounge name on these was the intention anyway, right? -GCR

Ahhh...you guys lost me with your non-screen accurate issues. Still, I'm very interested in seeing this project finished by you guys. The Aramarck shirt is by far the best one I've yet seen.
