I ordered a pair of Alden Indy 405 boots from their site and they just got here! They look and feel great. It fits really good. I was hoping I would get the right size and I did. I'll know more after I've worn them for a while. The quality is very good and feels well-constructed. Indoors and in lower lighting, they don't seem so "pumpkin" colored. They look a bit darker than some others I've seen. But out in direct sunlight they do look a bit more pumpkin. The color of Todd's boots is pretty similar to the 405's. The lining on the inside is leather. Before, the 405's used to have cotton lining, but now the standard lining for them is leather. That's a plus! Their customer service is great. I spoke through e-mails to Brenda Gilli and she responds quickly. I even asked for a spare pair of laces and they included them. The shipping was fast as well. Now for the pictures: Here's a comparison of Todd's boots and the 405's. The Todd's is on the left and 405's on the right. Thanks for the great boots! I can now say I am wearing the same boots Harrison Ford wears in the Indiana Jones movies. I will get more pictures up later.

Hi Noah - fantastic pair of boots you've got there! Being new to the Indy Lounge I'm going to have to raid a few banks... sorry- temples before I could afford those babes...LOL ;D In the mean time I'll just have to drool at the mouth, and stare at your 405 pics here at the Indy lounge, until the shekels in my bank account magically appear! Thanks Idol Raider!
;D Yeah it took quite a bit of saving to afford these. I think they're worth it! It can save you money in the long run since you won't need to buy another pair for years. These will last you for a long time.

Congrats, ol' buddy! I'll spring for the Magnolis, unless the Todd's are confirmed to be more durable than they currently are, and maybe even a darker brown. But unless that happens, I'll be going with the Magnolis in Cordovan. Steven

Thanks guys!! PJ, Magnoli's boots look great as well. The Cordovan should be very nice. Mr. Fusion, yes, one day you should get these. They're great! Worth the money I say, since they are durable and will last for years.

Cheers Ken, I'm sounding like a total noobe I know. But it's just so long since I looked seriously at cameras, some of the things I learned years ago seem to be different! I think the 5 or 7 D are going to be too expensive for me, so I'll push for the 550D the jump in resolution is huge from the one we already have. Is there a cheaper way to macro. I used to use a teleconverter on my old Pentax SLR. . One thing that is slightly surprising on my old film camera I used to be able to get Iso 25 film, these digital ones only seem to go down to 100. What is the deal with that? Talking about being out of the loop I bought a polarising filter and was shocked that they were about 10x what I used to pay. The idea of a circular style polariser took a bit to get my head around!

Hmm, they call them the 405s, but they're a darker brown like the 403s. Which one, which one? Steven

The J. Crew ones are nice as well. They make their's dark brown. I was considering those, the 403's, and the 405's. I chose the 405's since those are the ones Harrison wears in the movies. Imtheflash, congrats! You could ask Aldens for some spare pairs if you want, or you could find some at any store. Yes, these boots are epic.

With use and Pecards to condition them, plus exposure to sunlight, they will darken some over time.
Great looking boots! I have a pair of 405's that I purchased directly from Alden's and I never regretted the purchase. They are expensive, but well constructed and sure to last a long time to come. Enjoy them!

Thanks! Yes, after use, Pecards, and sunlight they will sure look good. I've seen others that have been, and they look great! I got mine directly from Aldens too, and they have free shipping! Despite being expensive, they are sure worth it since they will last a long time. I'll definitely enjoy them!

Have you done anything to darken them? How long have you had yours?
Looking forward to seeing pics of your boots!

I personally don't think darkening the boots would work for me. That's because of the moc-toe and the red tint. No matter what you do to darken the boots, the red tint will still be there, and what's worse, the moc-toe will darken, which I don't want. Steven

Thanks zmarty! Todd's boots are pretty accurate. The 403's are now shown on Alden's website. I've seen other boots that have been darkened and the moc-toe stitching wasn't really darkened. It hadn't turned dark brown or anything. So it should be alright.

These are my aldens and they seem to be a bit darker. I got mine just recently like a couple weeks ago and they really have only been out at night. I know I know, whats with the black shoe laces? Well I needed some spairs in a pinch. But I talked to Alden and they are sending me spairs for free they are really great people to deal with. As Noah and Myself can attest to. Attachments:
