This is my Wested washed goat after a year of wearing. My motto for wearing gear is, "Just Wear It." While I don't abuse my gear, I don't baby it either. I wear my gear on a daily basis, my hat 365 days a year, my jacket spring, fall, winter, and sometimes in the summer if it's cool. Bad weather does not kep me from wearing my gear. It has seen all types of weather, heat, cold, fog, snow, and a gully washer of a rain storm. It was completely soaked through and through. As a side note, I never applied any dressing to the jacket prior to this soaking. After it dried, the leather really started to develope some character. The leather seemed to be a little thick and stiff, and was almost a greyish color. I finally broke out the Pecard's last weekend. As I was applying it, I could almost feel the leather relaxing as it soaked in the dressing. Here are the pics:

That looks great Blooze.
I'll suggest that you don't reapply the pecards too often, only when it really feels dry again. I get the feeling with mine that you can go overboard with the pecards and it gets a bit of a waxy feeling if there is too much on.

I applied the Pecard's in a very thin coat, (I learned on a Wested lambskin, yes it can be done), and one coat was very sufficient. Even with one coat, I think you can overdo it and get that waxy, sticky feeling, if you aren't careful.
