I wonder... How else can George Lucas botch Indiana Jones? Perhaps he could recast Indy... He could put in WAAAY too much bad CGI... He could ruin the original films like he ruined Star Wars: Special Edition... I gotta shut up now. I might be giving Lucas too many good ideas to displease his fans. ;D

I get so tired of people bashing KOTCS and Shai. THE only thing I can find really wrong with KOTCS is Ford was not as quick and witty as he use to be. OUTSIDE of the tree swing monkey style thats really it..
KOTCS follows every other INDY movie ive ever seen. I have no idea what movie other people seen? KOTCS is just as good as the other 3 PERFECT movies.
AND Ive been waiting for INDY 5 a long time now..can....not....wait..

Ken Not really..I just think some people "and not to sound rude" are slightly dramatic and over react to things. Small things. Its like getting an Indy hat and its not just quite the same as the next one. Although 99% of the population couldnt tell, you see it. Maybe bashed a tad different. Its like with KOTCS..its actually just the same as the last 3 great movies...just slightly different. What do you not like? The aliens? Shai? The jungle swinging? The 3 crazy waterfalls and living? The nuclear explosion and Indy living through it? IT has Indy..Same type music if not better...Marion from the original Indy...Indy now has a family...Sorry, but I just fail to see why the "hard core" fans hate the movie?

It's just missing the feeling of the original movies. You never actually get the feeling that Indy is in danger. The movie is overloaded with CGI. Every scene is extremely well lit, which really ruined things for me. A part of the reason why I liked Raiders so much is they used shadows to portray a sense of mystery or to highlight facial expressions. They put Indy through things that are simply impossible (nuking the fridge), Shia swinging on vines with a bunch of monkeys (really?!), and geez, Indy has a gun but what's the point? He doesn't even use it!

He doesn't even use it! Well feel lucky you got another good Indy adventure. AND feel lucky that he even had a real whip. If you remember there were talks of his whip not even being real. BUT H.F said he wouldnt do the movie if he couldnt use the real whip. Should he have used the gun? I dont know..never even realized it was there honestly. I seen the great "john wayne over exaggerated" fights..which I like. I seen Indy swing on the whip. Crazy adventure. The music. Familiar people..Thats what I seen. Some people just look for the worst in things..AND normally thats me. BUT I didnt on this film because it was a great trip back to my childhood And I did say that Indy wasnt quite as quick witted as in the older films. He is older and a tad grumpier to boot..Even in real life he seems more grumpy. I dont think its perfect but KOTCS was great and fullfilled me of my Indy fix.

Make no mistake- I didn't try looking for the worst things in this movie. They were just too obvious to not miss. Honestly- if they took it easy with all of the CGI and turned down all the lighting and USED the shadow, I would have liked the movie a lot more. But then entire movie looked like it was filmed on a well-lit stage... which took me right out of the movie. Look in Raiders when Indy is at the Raven, look at the shadow across Indy's face! The played with the shadow, and it worked. CS didn't have anything like that.

I'm quite proud to say that, unlike 99% percent of the population...(as you say), I can quite easily see the vast differences between KOTCS and the first three movies. This doesn't make me slightly dramatic at all, just alive. BTW, the vast majority of the movie watching dwellers of this planet agree that Indy 4 was terrible. Yes, many people saw it.... because we were hoping for another Indiana Jones movie. Instead, we got a half hearted effort from everyone involved. Did I not like the few things you mentioned? Not at all. I hated them, to be more specific.... and so much more. I'm not going to list all the things I think they did wrong with that travesty of film making. It's much easier to say that I simply hated everything about it.The beautiful thing about all this is that you don't have to agree with the rest of us about Indy 4 or anything else. If it was just as good as the others to you, that's great. However, that doesn't make the rest of the world "dramatic" about all of the movie's shortcomings. Ken

Ken Well I guess im glad that I didnt see the travesty that you and others seen and I can count myself lucky to have 4 great Indy films that I will enjoy till I die..AND im 100% sure I'll like the next one. GUess sometimes I watch movies and tv with a "childs eye" instead of a strict critic.

I do my best to go in with an open mind and try to enjoy it for what it is. Some things just don't work for me and KOTCS was one of them. I am happy that you enjoyed them all. There is room in this world for many opinions about certain things. Ken
