The who made what is pretty unclear now. I can't remember correctly, but the pattern for the Legend isn't off of an original, but a pattern by Neil Cooper. I have to check all the info on this again.

Please lets not turn this into an Origin of the Raiders Jacket debate.
There are plenty of other places for that. If you are not sure where I will be happy to send you the links.
Cheers, John

I didn't hear it just from that one guy. There seems to be a lot of evidence showing that. Any "evidence" revealed in 2010 regarding a costume jacket from a movie from 1981 is not only highly suspect, but varies greatly depending on how much money can be made from the claim. The stories change depending on who you talk to.... and when you talk to them. Facts become fiction faster than you can crack a whip. Just follow the trails of changing stories and lined pockets, as they always leads back to the same folks. Ken Just a note for those who may misunderstand.... these comments are not directed at Peter or Wested.

I am sorry I never picked this up earlier but I was in LA for a film auction. The old washed goat had a problem with backbone showing and skins being too small so we have dropped it. The replacement from a different source is a still a washed goat but with pigmentation which gives a semi alanine look indeed similar to novapelle. The soft standard goat has a shiny finish. The jacket was made in the new washed goat and sent without production realizing that he was insisting on waiting for the old product which was and is no longer available. We have offered a refund on return and I fail to see what else I can do. Also we do not have payment as it has been suspended by PayPal subject to complaint.

So just for an update, I had to go though paypal to get a reply from them, which means I'll most likely end up eating the return shipping cost but at lest I'll get most my money back from them. also someone asked if i joined just to complain about wested... I figured this is a place people would come to if they're putting together an indy costume and I think they should know what they're getting into. =P 2nd, I was wanting any information other people had on how they'd resolved problems with wested. -Jeremy

just noticed the above reply from wested...
I can understand if you were out of the country as a reason for not getting a response. I still feel that I should have been contacted about the change in the style of leather being used considering it looks nothing like the original. The jacket will be in the mail for return next Monday. It was unfortunate that I had to contact Paypal, but considering my emails were going unanswered I had little other option.

Figured I'd add an update. Wested never cooperated with papal and *after* returning the jacket to them i still did not get my money back. In the end i reported them for credit card fraud and provided proof of the return shipping plus the original emails showing that i did not want the different jacket in the first place. I just got the money back from visa last week.
sad thing about all this is that i just wanted to exchange the jacket. there's no way i'm ever going to risk ordering from them again though.

That's extremely unfortunate. I would never order from them again if that happened to me. I guess I'm lucky because the complete opposite happened for my order. Placed an order in late January for their standard Last Crusade in Authentic Lamb. 3 days go by and I get an email saying they've shipped it and here's the tracking number. 3 days later the jacket shows up here in Canada.
It's funny, you mentioned earlier in this thread about the plastic look of the jacket. That certainly came to my mind after I opened up the jacket when I first got it. But after about a week of wearing it in various weather conditions, that shiny texture is luckily gone. Just needs a little wear n tear. Overall though I've been very happy with it. It's very well made as far as I can tell. If it weren't for some of these mixed customer service complaints, I wouldn't hesitate to order a custom fit jacket.
