I've been thinking of getting another jacket for awhile, i already have two much to my wife's chagrin. The first one I got was a Coyle's and it was good, but the jacket pockets weren't constructed too well, they frayed like crazy until the cargo pocket was useless. I glued them down and it fixed the problem. Then I got my Us Wings from eBay and gave the Coyle's to a friend for his wedding ( I told him about the fixes, but he was excited about the jacket anyways.) But i wondering if the Coyles jackets are built better now, then they were two or three years ago, especially the cargo pockets.
I know people are 50/50 on the jacket, but it always seems to take a good beating for the price.

When did you buy it? I remember reading somewhere that the first Todd's jackets weren't very well-made.

I think his newer jackets are better made. I have one from, I think, his current run and it's great. The only thing about the accuracy is the yoke and sleeve seam line up. Other than that it's a great jacket. Todd said he'll fix that on his next run.

i chatted with todd via email. he told me that the pockets were the biggest improvement for this new run along with the leather being of a better quality i.e. thicker and aging better. he also sent me a pdf of the measurements, i would end up wearing a large, but upon measuring/comparing with my wested denim, the back would be three inches short, 24 inches for the back does seem a little short.
one thing i like about Todd's is that they are are constantly improving their product(s) and they have super customer service.

I'd love an Indy jacket made of of motorcycle jacket grade cowhide or steerhide. I know it's much heavier than what was used in the movies, but as long as the cut looks good, I prefer heavier leather. The reputation of Todd's being such a lightweight leather is what has prevented me from purchasing one in the past. I generally like the Todd's cut, although 24 inches does sound about 2 inches short.

Great customer service and they are always improving their products. They just keep getting better. The back of my jacket is a pretty short too, but Todd said he'll correct those on his next batch.

I guess i'll wait for the next batch to come in , it sounds like they will be improved once more because of the back length of the jacket, whenever the next batch arrives that's when i will get another jacket. Did todd ever say when the next batch will arrive?

I think I remember him saying he should get them sometime early next year. Also, the next run will have the correct yoke and sleeve placement. I'll see if I can find where he said that.

if everything is spot on, looks good when i wear it and is long enough, that's good enough for me. and early next year sounds like enough time for me to save up some cash for it.

one thing i like about Todd's is that they are are constantly improving their product(s) and they have super customer service. Glad you think so. I ordered from him at eBay. Deluxe model, goat skin, size 42. I got a Lambskin size 54. I called and was told it was MY mistake, it was 42 chest...special order. BS, that was nowhere in the ebay ad, and what about the Lambskin part? But they did take it back. Yesterday I ordered an Indy shirt on ebay + $8 shipping...then noticed the same shirt with Free Shipping. I asked to cancel my order or return the shipping. Reply was. "That's not how it works. What's done is done". I don't call that good customer service, I call it contempt. From now on, I'll do my shopping elsewhere.
