Very nice work Josh ! Kinda looks like mine...wich is still a work in progress. You say you made ONLY 9 pages in a few days...I say that's pretty good, I know 'cause when I worked on mine I would do like 2 double spreads (4 pages) in a day or two...depending on the particular pages. See link: indylounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=proprep&action=display&thread=2028(I really need to update this)

Great work Josh! You too Stefana! Wow 9 pages in only a few days is really good! That's fast! I want to get a Magnoli diary and maybe do it on a different adventure.

Thanks guys! I will admit, I have been cheating a little. I've been using carbon paper to trace the images. It actually took me almost as long to hand write 3 pages of text than it did to trace and re-trace any 2-page spread before that. ;D
Stefana, your diary is amazing! I would love to see some updates!

Very nice work there Mr Fusion Have considered doing a Grail Diary myself, but just don't have the skill or self belief in my artistic abilities. Yours looks to be coming along quite nicely, and it'll be good to see more as you do it. Are you finding it easy to do the tracings? I only ask as that's the only way I could foreseably attempt doing a Grail Diary

VERY NICE! Mine is blank inside with the ticket and Silver Certificate sticking out. Maybe one day I'll start working on it.

Thanks guys.
Stargate, the tracing method I use isn't too difficult. I would love to draw it all by hand, but I'm really not that good at copying artwork. I like to make it my own.
I haven't worked on mine in so long. It's starting to bug me that I've only gotten done what I have now... I just don't have the time.

Yeah I know how you feel. I'd like to make a diary of another adventure, perhaps based on the Indy ride at Disneyland, but I'd need time.

Although these might not be cheap enough for you guys in the States, have you checked out PaperhighThey're a FairTrade company in the UK that produces some fantastic journals, especially if you go for the plain leather covered ones I've got a couple of the small or medium leather Indian journals, and they're fantastic! One's actually got embossed on the cover with a design including tigers and flowers, while the other is just plain. The paper they use is actually made of recycled waste from the cotton trade in India, so it's ecological, FairTrade as they pay a good price for it, and very good quality. The best part is, they look very "adventure-ready" and will easily fit in the pocket!

Just found a dirt-cheap 'close-enough' blank Grail journal/notebook for folks in the UK - Ryman's A6 NotebookAlthough the dimensions aren't right for the Grail diary, and the pages are lined, it makes a nice looking Indy-style pocket notebook At £4.99 it's pretty affordable too, and the slightly distressed brown leatherette cover gives it the right 'look', so have a rummage at your local branch or you can buy them online I plan to use mine for recording any expeditions/fieldwork I do, therefore coming up with a real archaeology/adventure journal!

I just took some pictures of my recently updated diary. With the Cross of Coronado This one was done over a year ago (it needs touching up). And just for fun, I drew the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
