Hey, I just looked through all thirteen pages of jacket threads, and I can't find any information on the Indy jacket from flightjacket.com. Is it good, bad, not SA? Just wondering, because for the price they seem to think they're contending with US Wings, Wested, Gibson & Barnes, and Todd's Custom, but they never get mentioned.
Thanks, Mike

It's not particularly accurate and at it's price it's a good $100 or so more expensive than the middle range rivals.
It looks comparable with a US Wings for more money.
I've been in the hobby for about 4 years in that time I've only heard of 1 person buying one.

Flightjackets makes lots of vintage looking leather jackets. According to a thread over at COW, their Indy-style was originally based on a Wested which someone traded in. Some feel that the pattern has changed since then, since the resemblance to Wested is not as strong now. One of the members owns a horsehide A-2 from Flightjackets, and described it as "built like a tank". I think it looks OK, but not better than a G & B Expedition or a US Wings, which are widely considered to be two of the toughest Indy-style jackets you can buy. I suppose I'd need to see one up close to form a really firm opinion, can't tell a great deal from the photos on the website. Here is the thread, read for yourself: www.indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=44264&hilit=flightjacket

If you are looking for a flight jacket almost... Don't. Not that a good horsehide A-2 USAAF spec jacket isn't built like a tank, they are expensive as hell. I got lucky and found one at goodwill in a 42 tall for $6.99, but if you order new they are at least 500 bucks. look at uswings indy style adventurer.
