Can anyone recommend a leather conditioner to use on a jacket? I am not looking to distress anything artificially, just condition the leather for light rain. I have some at home that I use on shoes, but it contains wax, and I have heard conflicting info on what to use on jackets.
Suggestions?
Thanks everyone!

The first question is, what kind of leather is it? Lambskin, goatskin, cowhide? etc...

Well, with cowhide you could use either the Pecards leather lotion or leather dressing (sparingly). I like that the lotion can be applied without leaving the surface sticky, but on really thick leathers it may take alot more to soak in.
Honestly, I would pick up a small bottle of leather lotion at Burlington Coat Factory, Wilson Leather, or some other local store. It will save you money without paying shipping, and will do a nice job adding a light coat of moisture to the hide to prevent drying out. I have a sample bottle of leather lotion from Pecards and it looks, smells, and applies the same as Kiwi or other brands of leather lotion. The dressing can be over applied to easily and seems to be the waxy culprit you are leary of in the first place.
Other people may have a different view about it, but that's mine.
