Yeah...I'd agree with that...It looks green against the Magnoli I meant...It's still perfect colouring for the later films, no doubts at all...The posters and photos of HF in Crystal Skull are SPOT on in colour for the Wested... I found that interesting... Especially since it looks as though the colours have been altered slightly from the first photo in this thread...Makes sense to stay "true" I think?
and yes, I'll also agree that "khaki" has a WIDE load...It covers pretty much everything from light brown, through sand and over to olive green as you say....Stupid but that's fashion...Comparing the Wested to my green shirts it's not...But then, comparing it to my white and stone shirts, it is again....And it all depends on the light (since my house uses Fluorescent in one room and warmer lightbulbs in the other, it can change dramatically...).. I'd say the best colour is the one in the photo above.. That's it MOST of the time, and always outside it's that shade.. So that would be a good guess as to it's "natural" tone...
Who knows?....LOL

I like how the Magnoli shirt looks. The Wested does seem a bit green next to the Magnoli, but it's still a good looking shirt.

Yeah....I think it depends largely on what film you're aiming for accuracy in? If it's Raiders then I think something more "stone" like is perfect (like the Magnoli), Temple is close to Raiders, but slightly darker? I think... And if it's Last Crusade, you might want to go a touch darker or slightly more "Khaki" than that colour, perhaps Todds? And I'd say that Crystal Skull is possibly the same as the Wested colour and the closest to a COLOUR (Rather than a shade?) in itself...
But that's just my take on it all....And we all vary in that!

Yeah the color of the shirt sort of varies in each of the movie. I think the Crystal Skull shirt was more khaki-ish, stone colored. Although, they all are somewhat stone colored. So you're right it depends on what movie you are going for. When Azuma starts his next run of Indy shirts, I would like to get one of his if I have the money. I'd like a TOD, but a Raiders or LC would be fine too.

And yeah, short of a Noel Howard, Azuma's are close enough to beat most into silence about colours or design.... I'll be doing the same as you when he makes the next run...

In the continuing interests of keeping people's options open, I recently received an Azuma LC shirt and wanted to add the comparison shots (Indoors and outdoors) to this thread... Here's the first.. Outdoors, showing from front to back: Azuma's Last Crusade, Magnoli's Raiders, and Wested's shirt colouring.. Here's the second, indoors, showing from front to back: Azuma's, Magnoli's and Wested's... And lastly, Azuma's on it's own... Gotta be honest, Azuma REALLY nailed this shirt... So good.. Absolutely stunning work.. Regards all... Ben

Of those three, I only own Azuma's. I don't think I'll ever need another one. Fantastic shirt!

Josh, Totally agreed...Azuma makes the best thing out there since the NH shirts..Stunning quality, low priced and perfectly designed...Great stuff... The Magnoli is my favourite, but only because it really DOES feel "made for me".... The Azuma is very close second, but beats the Magnoli for comfort (just not for being "my" shirt so much, since it's off rack), so VERY close second... The Wested is decent, but I still think lacks a little something, especially compared to the other two... I'd like to see an Adventurebilt... But those and the NH's are both out of my range currently.. Azuma is spot on for everything, and I'm very glad I managed to get one! Regards!

Glad to help! The Wested..... Yeah, not bad at all, but I think compared to the other two it can only come third.. The buttons are a touch larger, the epaulettes are thicker too (Although aligned perfectly for Crystal Skull, so that might have been the aim?), and the colouring is still slightly greener to my eyes.. (Again, far closer to Crystal Skull I think).. The Azuma shirt is well worth the wait... He makes sure it's amazingly spot on... I'm really impressed.. The amount of work that he did to get these shirts looking so good is very impressive I think... (You have to feel the shirt too, it's wonderful! So soft! Less "formal" feeling than the Magnoli I think...).. Perfect. When the Raiders run starts I'm in from the beginning... I really want to see what he can manage with that shirt too... I'm glad it helped some!

Sadly Azuma only makes as many shirts as he gets responses to his shirt post over on COW.. The LC run was larger I think, but since he got left with unsold stock I think he changed that way of making the shirts and only makes as many as he gets requests for from now on in.. (That applied to the TOD shirt and will probably be the same for his next run on Raiders too)... If you're a member over on COW you'll see his posts up about the next batch to be made I expect....I can't wait for the Raiders...I'd love to see what he did with the design..

Hmmm....I'm not sure if it's "okay" to be posting the COW website here but I guess there's no "competition" there? So I hope it's okay (Mods, if not, then please just delete?).. www.indygear.com/cow/index.php This is the link to the Temple of Doom shirt post... "Azuma" is his handle on the COW.. He hasn't started the run of "Raiders" just yet, but may have a few LC's or TOD's left? Perhaps? www.indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=47536 Hope that helps..

i just recieved from costumebase the indiana jones shirt . the color is a bit more yellow than my Todd's shirt. and the epulates are about a 1/2 inch longer than Todd's , i will be posting pics soon to let you see the shirts side by side . the material on costumebase shirt is a bit thicker thans Todd's shirt. the buttons are about the same color as Todd's though so they don't look dark .over all the shirt doesnt look bad , i bought an x-large and have yet worn the shirt, to see how the length of the shirt was , but it looks about the same as Todd's.

I just read this on the Wested Indiana Jones shirt page:
"With thanks to the input of Indygear.com forum members who helped make this shirt screen accurate."
I was under the impression that the Wested shirt was not screen accurate based on this post. The shirt currently pictured on Wested's web site looks just like the one I bought almost 4 years ago. Has the shirt changed, but the pictures haven't caught up?
Thanks,
G-man-71

The shirt's design seems to have changed several times, in small details and colouring, and texture as well over the years...I'd suggest that Wested's use of the "Indygear.com" name is right, and that the basic details were gained from there, but that doesn't make the shirt accurate, since the sizes, colouring, and garment quality all change and are open to some debate...The "essentials" are fine, but the DETAILS? On the "current" Wested shirts aren't as good as they "could be"...That's all....It's DEFINITELY an Indy shirt...Just not the most ACCURATE Indy shirt...That's all...
Regards

My favourite Indy shirt is my one from AB. The colour is about identical to the NH and it has the added advantage of having enough buttons down the front. The problem I always had with the NH was that it doesn't have enough buttons to button all the way down - tending to cause 'gape' above the belt! The azuma is a great shirt too but I'm more of a raiders guy than LC

I have a Wested shirt that I bought maybe 3 years ago (give or take) and I had the buttons changed from the big ones to a smaller, pearl grey ones and it made the shirt look so much different!! I am saving to get an Adventurbilt and a Magnoli..I just love Magnoli's stuff!! I say you can't have too much Indy gear, so I am definitely into getting spares!!

I dont think i will ever get a true indy shirt. Ive got enough safari type casual shirts and i think they will do the job. I think i will get the boots, a indy type jacket and web belt......that is enough for me i think. Also i will get a fedora and have got one as i speak......2 in fact now.

Pocket shape is a little off, but in most aspects, and for the price, that's not a bad choice.

Pocket shape is a little off, but in most aspects, and for the price, that's not a bad choice. It is the same price as the wested shirt and looks like a nice colour . This company also does the indy pant in cotton. But they dont seem to have many sizes available at the moment.
