Well, you got a better answer than I got -- at least a more informative one. Peter emailed me yesterday to say that the goatskin arrived on Tuesday and the jackets are in the works. Still good news I suppose, just not definitive as to when they will be completed. Hopefully, they'll ship out yours and mine both next week...

KT,
What date did you order your jacket? Assuming they're going in the order that they were placed, it should give everyone an idea how much longer the wait will be...

KT, What date did you order your jacket? Assuming they're going in the order that they were placed, it should give everyone an idea how much longer the wait will be... ~Jace I really don't remember. Trying to gauge your position in the pack based on others is just a guess anyway. There are so many factors, size of jacket, type of skin... lots of things. Just as long as you are sure your order has been accepted, just wait. Or give them a call. But they have had delivery now so things should get moving.

I'm saying it may have helped gauge an approximate due date, not an exact one. My sizes are 40 & 42 -- yup, 2 jackets to assure I get the right fit. The other will probably be for sale within a day or 2 of arrival... You don't even remember around when you placed your order? Was it really that long ago?? ~Jace

I've learned a few things when it comes to custom made items. One of those is to ask if they have the leather or materials in stock as that's something that caused such a long wait, along with an approximate wait if possible instead of reading their policy (ex. - 21 day wait.) I'm glad to see them finally pulling through.
Nice jacket Kt! That pumps me up some. I really like your custom made label. That's one of the coolest ideas I've seen around here. In fact, it looks much better then the current label because the color and design. Your jacket looks super thin. How's the construction? This is my 1st Indy jacket ever and it's a custom Raiders horse hide. It's a whole new experience for me. I plan to regularly wear this and let it naturally distress. I have another leather jacket right now by Covington. I hate it with a passion. Huge collar, gigantic sleeves, liner is ripped in multiple spots, cheap Italian black leather, and much more. This Wested should replace my current jacket as an every day 3 season jacket (no summer for me.)

Hey KT, terrific jacket!
Just one thing though, the color looks almost grey... is it just the lighting? Cause my Wested washed goat is unmistakenably brown.... I just want to clearify.

It is brown, but quite dark and dusty. This is in comparison to a 5 year old authentic lamb. TDK this leather is very similar to my lamb in weight and thickness, it does feel tougher due to the snap of the goat, all the seams are in the right places and it feels good. I rarely roll around on the ground in my jackets but I think this should last me as well as any of my others. This leather is designed to mark easily, probably as easily as the novapelle, I know it looks super matte and flat right now but I can tell it will pick up some nice markings very quickly. If you were going for sturdy with some weight go with the horse. (Although they are not doing the ToD in horse).

KT,
How wide are the pleats on these ToD jackets? 1.5" or shallower? (< is that a word?)

I'm kinda reticent about saying. I don't want people starting to specify their own take on what it 'should' be. That's what caused the wider pleats on Wested standard Raiders pattern. People 'wanted' pleats that stayed shut, the deeper pleat was an attempt to do that, it doesn't work that well because they don't really stay shut anyway. It is part of their standard "Raiders" patterns now and old tricks are very hard to change.
Let them do these without spec'ing, whilst their measures of the original are still fresh it looks good to me. Now that the teething problems with the collar stand and bottom of the pleat has been sorted out.
They are narrow.

They say that Wested is a good custom jacket that is better then your typical OTR jacket from a store like Sears or WalMart. Is it truly noticeable? I don't have a doubt that G&B or TN is but Wested? Just curious!
Time should fly and next thing you know, they'll have my jacket shipped.

Any news Tyrloch? I haven't heard a thing since last Thursday. I don't see how you can order yours several weeks after I ordered mine and still already get yours. Mine was ordered before yours, they have horse in stock, and I heard back from them a day before you did as far as when it was suppose to be cut.

I recieved an email from Peter stating that my jacket is about complete and will be shipped tomorrow. Never thought the day would come. I wonder how long it takes it to get to Illinois.
