Okay, maybe I'm just stupid here but I thought the Sliders on the Raiders and Temple of Doom jackets were flat, black, rectangles. That were placed length-wise up and down on the side of the jacket.
I recieved my Washed Goat and saw that it had more like tubular sliders rather than flat buckle shapes and assumed that those were the D-Rings.
Ken posted a link to Raider style sliders, but it just looks like the same thing on my jacket.
Ami wrong? Did the screen Raiders jacket have more 'flat-buckle-like' sliders or am I totally imagining things?
I have to watch the film again for the 1000000000.000000000 time. Please, can someone help about this?
Oh, and by the way. Does anyone know who produces the heaviest, toughest actual-real-world camping. hiking, climbing, explorer, adventuring Indy style shirt?
I recieved an AB from Kim and its a nice 'dress' kind of shirt, and wouldn't mind having more, but I doubt if teve Erwin would've worn it in the Outback.
I'm looking for 'Real-World' Indy quality gear, and its a really nice shirt for out-and-about-town. But I'm having major troubles finding a real Khaki-Safari-Explorer Indy style shirt and pants.
Does anyone make these at all?? Or does everyone make these mainly for show?
I want real, rugged, tough, thick enough shirt/pants to go with my tough enough Aldens, Jacket and AB Fedora.
Any help about both shirt, pants and jacket would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Loosing my mind as well as my money. Rich

Okay,
thanks again Ken.
You know, I want screen-accurate AND real. Is that possible?
Does anyone make a shirt that will hold up to real adventuring-round-the-world-travel and matches the total clolor/style of the on-screen Raiders shirt?
If not I can really see why many people such as Steve Delk and Marc Kitter started Adventurebilt.
Maybe its time someone mixed real-world camping, explorer material with Indiana Jones designed shirts & pants. Hmmm....
I'll get back to you on that one.
later. Rich rmh0099@hotmail.com

I fixed the above links, in case you want to try them again.
There really is no such thing as real world toughness and total screen accuracy. The materials used really do affect how they looked on screen, so changing them for more practical choices is a tradeoff... no matter how small.

i dont know how insanely screen acurate the color is. but im an archaeology major, and i use the shiwrt from www.whatpriceglory.com on all my digs. including my two week trek through the jungles of belize studying the mayan temples. all my gear from them has stood up well. the only gear thats doesnt seem to stand up outstandingly is my wested jackets, it could be because i have OTR jackets and i think they are made by the outsource company or w/e, but they pop stitches like crazy

From what I understand the OTR jackets are indeed outsourced, though I have no idea if the stitch popping issues are limited to the OTR Westeds only. Anyways, if you're ever in the market for another jacket and durability is a strong point but you don't necessarily need it to be a thick, heavy or stiff jacket, I'd recommend a G&B all the way (the stitching and zipper are guaranteed for life). Not to take anything away from Wested, as I have a Wested too and it's held up extremely well for the last 6 years (no issues at all). But if you're an active, outdoorsy type that likes to put your gear through the ringer, a G&B jacket would probably be a better choice in the long run.
