Hi,
after looking at all the pics and reading the info and agonizing over what jacket to get and what size for my very first Indy.
I decided to chance it and go for the Washed Goat from Wested.
Ordered an off the peg in a 44 Reg.
It has the cotten body with the satin sleeves and brass zipper.
And I just got it today.
Yep, great leather jacket all around! Originally ordered a custom, but talked w/ Gemma and because of sizing fears he sent me an off the peg Washed Goat.
Said if it didn't fit I could return it whereas a custom I couldn't return.
Looks/feels great except its a Raiders jacket and it has the rings instead of the rectangular sliders I was hoping for, but no biggie.
Its also more regular brown than the very dark brown seen in Raiders, but other than that its perfect.
Actually its a tiny bit tight, but that works really well. Gives it that cool Raven Bar look when zipped up.
I always thought Indy's jacket in Raiders looked just a little bit tight for him in that scene.
Funny thing, I was at JC Pennys recently and saw this pleather jacket on sale there. Arizona - Biker Brown.
Even though its not really leather it feels great and looks great and I think the color is perfect.
Unfortunatly the style is too modern for Indy, but I bought it anyway as a modern-day version to switch off to.
It was on sale for $30.00 plus Buy-one-get-one-free.
Can't beat that!
I'm thinking of ordering a second jacket in a few weeks, thought I would try another Raiders.
This time go for broke and get the more Screen Accurate Dark Brown Lambskin.
By the way, anyone know if Wested sells the rectangular sliders with the custom Raiders or not?
They don't seem to want to get back to me on that one.
I'm also considering ordering the trousers from Wested as well.
Already tried L.L. Bean and Mignoli but didn't like either and sent them back.
Hopefully third time's the charm as far as pants go.
