packing a jacket?

Strange question for ya fellers. Whats the best way to pack or box up a jacket for shipping so that it stays secure and whatever. I can't recall how it was boxed when I recieved it.

Both of my Westeds and my G&B were shipped to me folded like you would see a long sleeve shirt folded on a department store shelf. This does present a problem as it creates wrinkles were the jacket is folded, but after wearing the jacket around for a day or two the wrinkles typically loosen up and go away.

If you're packing the jacket for a vacation somewhere, I would wear it if possible. If not, then I would roll it up and put it in your suitcase, rather than fold it. I've had good luck rolling my jacket and having it be relatively wrinkle free after long flights. There will still be some wrinkles, of course, but they won't be as obvious as the wrinkles that would occur if the jacket is folded.

I've sent a few jackets out. My preferred way is to turn the jacket inside out and zip it up. Then fold arm over arm then up from the bottom in half and then half along the centre line. I then put it in a shipping sack, the tough polyproplene type. Seal that and then put it in another and seal that.

You can fold it up wrap it in a shipping sack and put it in a box if you can find the right size but the weight and size of the box trends to up the shipping costs unnecessarily in my mind.

Sure does, thanks. I'm actually thinking of selling a jacket and before I post it I wanted to get all the little stuff worked out first such as how to pack it up. Does UPS and other delivery companies supply boxes and such?
