This may sound like a stupid question, but what kind of Pecards do I use to darken my Alden's? I've used mink oil before on rough-out boots and that worked great. Everybody seems to talk about Pecards, so I thought I'd give it a try. When I went to thier website there were a half dozen different types to choose from.

It can be a bit daunting. I ordered some brown-tinted leather lotion a while back to use on my jackets, boots, holsters, etc. and it has worked out great, though it seems to work out better on the jackets than it does on stuff like holsters. I received a small bottle of "boot oil" for free with my order, and I have heard of people having good luck using that in their boots. I would steer clear of using mink oil, as I have heard that it can eventually ruin the leather over time as it goes rancid. Pecards is PH balanced to prevent any sort of damage to the leather, so whichever type you choose, you should be OK.
