A little while after Peter announced that Noel Howard had passed away, I called him to express my concern that Noel's stock and especially his screen used items would be taken care of. He told me not to worry, "I'm taking care of it". Today, I had the great pleasure in seeing those items and even trying on the jacket. I'm normally a size 40 "SHORT".

Excellent pic, KT! While I'm still saddened by Noel's passing, I am glad to see that certain items of movie & gear history are now in good hands.

Hi KT!
Just changing the subject, i ordered my Wested War Of The Worlds jacket and it arrived yesterday! It is a Large as suggested by Emma, as she knows i am a 44 in the ROLA Special Offer.
I think it`s ok, but it fits a bit snug, especially when zipped up. Is it supposed to be that sort of fit? I really don`t want to return it and have to pay all the shipping costs again, as i already had to do that with the Raiders jacket. It is quite costly from Australia as you could imagine. it`s a bit better if i undo the side and sleeve zippers. But i don`t think i can fit a sweater underneath, maybe just a shirt or t-shirt. Do you think i should exchange for a an XL, or do you think i`ll get used to it? How does yours feel?
Any advice would be great!
Cheers, Mikie.

Shipping is so expensive! I'd try selling it locally and see if you can get the difference back.
They do run a little snug. But I have a 'S' and it feels fine I usually wear between a 38 and 40... more 40 these days!

Thanks KT!
Yeah.......i`ll wear it a couple of times and see how it feels. If i`m not comfortable i might take your suggestion and try and sell it, then maybe order an XL. My girlfriend thinks it looks fine, but it just feels a touch tight to me.
Cheers, Mikie.

KT, I know how much you value your friendship with Peter, and I'm sure the feeling is mutual. If anyone got the opportunity to try on a screen used jacket like that one, I'm glad it was you. All it needs now is to have the sleeves taken in to match your arms, and a whole bottle of leather conditioner applied to it... then you'll really be set! Ken

Looks great on you KT, I think that brown burnished lambskin that Peter used for the first prototype is fairly good. I've noticed that some have express a desire for a darker color but it always looked like a brown color to me. I'd say that it looked brown and distressed and also saturated with something in most areas and sceens ... be it water or mink oil, etc.. just my .02

Indoor shot with flash make it looks totally different. The base colour is pretty much wested authentic brown mixed with their old seal brown. Then again this close up with flash looks totally different.

Remarkable (and very cool) pics KT! One of the things I have grown to love about the Indy jacket (at least through the first 3 films) is the chameleon (did I spell that right? ) like way it changes color depending on the lighting conditions. (Of course we all know this trait is not limited to the leather jacket by any means ) Sometimes it looks nice and dark, other times it looks light, other times it appears in between. If I didn't know better, I would swear that the pics above were of two or three totally different jackets, based on the color.

KT, what's your take on the nylon lining ? I have a pretty old motorcycle jacket from the mid '70s that has a heavy nylon lining and am not that crazy about the way it feels... I think when alot of people hear nylon lining, they may be thinking it's satin(y), but nylon is generally much thicker, tougher and synthetic feeling. Maybe it's a different nylon than I'm used to?

It's a thin nylon. The type that doesn't crease like satin. I have older Westeds/Leather Concessionaires jackets that are lined this way. Actually, it's not that bad. GCR, check out the markings on the pocket, you can see it's the same jacket. Yup, colour reproduction is a killer!

Oh, I never doubted that it was...that's why the color is really so remarkable to me. You could theoretically buy a jacket from every single vendor in every shade of leather offered and STILL not be able to have a jacket in a color that matches up with every scene from the original films. ;D

Wow, now that is a sweet looking jacket! Those pockets look dead-on, and the leather has a really nice quality and color to it. I'm pretty excited about this one, I may have to spring for one once I have a surplus of gear funds built up.
Why the secret buckles, though? Is that simply to prevent competitors from sourcing the correct hardware?

Awesome KT, thanks for the pictures especially the vent area. The pockets are super cool, everything about 'em. The straps appear a little short, it that true are they significantly shorter than the other jackets. I still like this leather too for this particular jacket.
