ROLA Special Offer Size Question

I was looking at the Wested ROLA special offer jacket (which looks like a GREAT jacket) and was wondering if my normal jacket size (44) would work, or is there a big size difference (I never ordered a jacket online... from another country before).

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi there!

If it`s any help.....I am from Australia, and a bit wary too about buying clothing online from overseas without being able to try it on, especially expensive clothing!

Anyway, my normal suit jacket size is 44, so i ordered a standard version Raiders jacket from Wested (size 44). It was ok, but i thought i could have gotten away with going down a size, and for some reason the collar didn`t sit right. One side hung lower than the other, and it seemed alot heavier than i imagined too. Before returning it i looked into it, mainly information on this and Wested`s site, and read about the Raiders Special Offer being a slightly slimmer and longer cut, being a bit lighter and more screen accurate to the jacket in the film.

I thought about it and logically, being a slimmer cut and all my original size 44 should be just right in the Special, so that`s what i exchanged it for. I have it now and it seems just right, the length is good and the sleeve length is perfect! And it is a fair bit lighter and looks more like the jacket i know from the film. The lamb is so soft too!

When i think about it now, the standard version seems like a heavy everyday leather jacket made to look like an Indy jacket.

It looks like I will order a size 44, and give more specific measurements to Gemma to make sure I get the right fit... that is I hope I measured right! I spent several days going around to stores that have leather jackets, trying them on, measuring them if they fit, and getting some weird looks.

I think I have the correct measurements, and I feel confident that it would make a great fit.

Okay, so I am thinking a size 44 L will work for me, and using measurements from jackets that fit me well, the sleeve length should be 26.75-27" and the back should be around 28". I am 6' 1-2" tall and am about 200 pounds. Do these measurements seem correct? Using your past experiences with Wested jackets, and judging your size and how you jacket fits, etc...

I just want to be sure since in the COW forum (still waiting to be approved from an admin.) I found a post where someone got a Wested, is 6' 1" and wears a size 46, though he doesn't seem to be much bigger than me (looking at the pictures).

Wested's tend to be a little less forgiving than your normal everyday jacket.

What is your actual measured chest size? A ROLA will be good for your height, I'd be tempted to go for a 46 for you.

The Rola has a tighter slimmer cut than a standard raiders so do tend to fit close, I've know people to complain that they are too tight under the arm, which would be solved by going a size up.

The goat is a fantastic leather too.

I have a standard 44r and a ROLS 44r. The ROLA is a little trimmer, and maybe just a little longer. Here is a pic of the ROLA. For reference I am 5'8", 180 lbs.
