Since this item has "Indiana Jones" written on the top of it, I thought it to be more of a shelf piece than a regular use item: Indiana Jones Pocket Watch www.coolest-gadgets.com/20080816/indiana-jones-pocket-watch/No idea on why this Indiana Jones Pocket Watch was released since it has never featured in any of Indy’s movies, but I guess when it comes to marketing muscle and merchandise, anything goes to snag that last dollar from you.
Embossed with the Indiana Jones logo on the front, these metal pocket watches really work. Push the button on the top and they pop open to display the time in analog format with a moving second hand. Attach them to your pocket with the included metal chain and clip. You get a random choice of one of three different styles.
This officially licensed Lucasfilm product will retail for $29.99 each. Just like Indy, it ought to make you have the perfect timing, always.Ken

They had actually taken some pictures of Indy's gear during the pre-production phase, one of them showing the watch carried by Jones Sr. in LC, so I assume that there had been some plans - one way or the other - to give Indy a watch for CS. Whether it wasn't used at all or if the cut out the scenes later on, I don't know, but the watch IS on one of the pre-production pictures. I assume that the pictures were giving to the merchidizing companies as well, hence the licensed "replica".

I would LOVE to have an exact replica of a Henry Sr. pocket watch. But the fact that the watch has the Indy logo on it is the deal breaker for me. I'm just not crazy about the idea of broadcasting to the world that I am an Indy fan by having an Indy logo on any item of my clothing. Let's face it... it's a little different than having the logo of your favorite rock band on your t-shirt. Case and point: Most people in this hobby hate the gold pin on their DP's and generally remove it.

Yeah, the fact that it had the Indiana Jones logo on the top made it more of a novelty item to me. Otherwise, I would have posted this in the prop collection section.
Without the name on it, I can see more folks wanting one for sure.
