'Bigfoot' Trackers Claim They've Found Their Prey www.ktvu.com/news/17174989/detail.htmlPALO ALTO, Calif. -- It’s more than 7-feet tall. Weighs over 500 pounds and walked upright -- three "Bigfoot" seekers, including a Redwood City man, Wednesday claimed they have proof that they have found the body of the elusive creature in the wilds of Georgia.
And on Friday, at a news conference in Palo Alto, they say they will present DNA evidence to prove the carcass of “Rickmat” is that of a bigfoot.
Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, Georgia residents who lead Bigfoot-tracking expeditions, say they found the body of what appears to be a Bigfoot in the woods of northern Georgia and will join local Bigfoot researcher Tom Biscardi at the news conference, according to Robert Barrows, who is publicizing the event.
Among the creatures's other physical characteristics of the body --according to the hunters website: www.searchingforbigfoot.com/ -- were flat feet similar to human feet. Its footprint is 16 ¾ inches long and the length from palm to tip of the middle finger is 11 ½ inches long.
"I think you'll find that this is the real deal," Barrows said of the alleged discovery.
Whitton, a police officer in Clayton County, and Dyer, a former correctional officer, are not saying exactly where the body was found or where it is now, Barrows said.
Biscardi, a veteran Bigfoot tracker who said he went to Georgia to view the find over the weekend, said DNA tests are being conducted and a team of scientists will study the body, but declined to name any scientists involved.
Officials from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division said the largest wildlife they are aware of in the state are black bears and white-tail deer. It will be interesting to see where this goes. I have to say, this is the first I've heard of a Bigfoot in Georgia...I thought they were mainly spotted in the Pacific Northwest and in the swampy areas of East Texas and Louisiana.

;D Good point! I have to admit I find it a bit odd that no one knows where this supposed carcass is... I also find it strange that there are no pictures of this carcass. You'd figure if this was legit, the net would be flooded with pics by now, building hype until the "DNA" results are in. Weirder still...I followed the links at the bottom of the initial post, and two out of the three do not even lead anywhere. The Foxnews link was still up, but they only had a pic from the infamous "Patterson" film there.

There are some photos at the searching for bigfoot site, if you can get it to load. Both sites are obviously taking a hit with all the added traffic. I did get that page to load earlier, and saw what looked like a big bear/gorilla mix pile of fur and meat in the chest freezer.
I'm sure it's all just a big hoax, but might be interesting to see what they "claim" it is once the "DNA" results come back.

Here it is. Not sure what to make of it. It could be the real thing...but it could be a detailed mask on a bear carcass.

Bigfoot was in Louisiana but moved up to Georgia after Katrina. He was working as a temp at a local Home Depot when these guys caught him and stuffed him into a freezer. Sad really. Since when do you need DNA results to identify the corpse of a MONSTER?!!! Is that why the Loch Ness monster remains free? No concrete DNA evidence? Hey, I just noticed. That bigfoot has better teeth than I have. Impressive. What kind of dental plan do think he's on?

As expected... Bigfoot Hunters Press Conference Reveals... Littlewww.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,404805,00.html The much-anticipated Bigfoot press conference Friday afternoon in Palo Alto, Calif., revealed little more than two men — introduced by a self-styled Sasquatch seeker — claiming to possess the 7-foot "body" of a "bipedal creature" on ice in a secret location, awaiting an autopsy.
The men, Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, were joined in the press conference by Tom Biscardi, host of an Bigfoot Internet radio show, who said the men approached him with their "find," saying, "We want to talk to Tom Biscardi... They didn't want to meet anyone else."
Biscardi showed reporters two blurry photos, claiming one was the mouth of the "creature" while the other was another creature running through the Georgia woods. The men claimed they "stumbled on the creature," but would not reveal more because they were concerned about it being an "endangered species."
Biscardi reiterated his invitation to FOX News Channel anchor Megyn Kelly to come to Georgia and view the body, and plugged his Internet radio show.
He said there wouldn't be anything more revealed Friday, but promised that he would "assemble" a group of scientists to examine the alleged corpse.
Whitton recounted how he and Dyer found the "body," and said that more Bigfoots "paralleled" them as they were loading it onto a flatbed truck.
Biscardi said Whitton and Dyer had gotten death threats from Sasquatch fanatics, whom Whitton deemed "psychos."
None of this was likely to dissuade skeptics, even among Bigfoot experts, who questioned Biscardi's past ventures and noticed that the body in the freezer looked a lot like a Sasquatch Halloween costume available on the Internet .
"It definitely looks like our costume," Jerry Parrino, owner of TheHorrorDome.com, told FOXNews.com.
thehorrordome.com/HDSHOPPINGPROPS/SasquatchLARGE.htm
"This 'body' has little to do with Bigfoot and everything to do with a Sasquatch costume that someone developed after watching too many gorilla movies," warned Loren Coleman , who runs the influential Cryptomundo blog devoted to strange and unknown animals. "The teeth that seem to have been placed in the mouth could be my late mother's false teeth."
"I've had interactions with Tom Biscardi in the past, and based on that history, I would say that anything he is involved in is suspect," Idaho State anthropologist and Bigfoot investigator Jeffrey Meldrum told Scientific American .
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Reserve spokesman Tom Mackenzie told the Associated Press his agency isn't taking the claim seriously and won't investigate.
"It's not on endangered species on any list that we've got," he said.Scientific American's interview with Meldrum: www.sciam.com/blog/60-second-science/post.cfm?id=bigfoot-expert-weighs-in-im-extreme-2008-08-14Cryptomundo's skepticism and comparison of the freexer photo and the costume linked in the story above: www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/g-g-fall/Ken

Bigfoot Body Revealed to Be Halloween Costumewww.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,406101,00.html So it really was a rubber suit.
The excitement over a supposed Bigfoot body that built all last week, culminating Friday in a circus-like press conference in Palo Alto, Calif., collapsed like a wet soufflé over the weekend as an independent investigator found out it was all fake.
SearchingforBigfoot.com owner Tom Biscardi paid an "undisclosed sum" to Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, the two Georgia men who say they found the body, for their frozen corpse and the privilege of trotting them out in front of TV cameras.
At the same time, Biscardi sent self-described "Sasquatch detective" Steve Kulls back to Georgia to check out the body.
Kulls, it's safe to say, was severely disappointed.
The upshot? The real Bigfoot, once found, is now missing. So are Whitton, Dyer and Biscardi's money.
In a long statement on SearchingforBigfoot.com, Kulls reveals what he found early Sunday morning Eastern time as the body thawed out.
"I extracted some [hair] from the alleged corpse and examined it and had some concerns," Kulls writes. "We burned said sample and said hair sample melted into a ball uncharacteristic of hair."
Kulls called Biscardi in California, who told him to heat the body to speed up thawing.
"Within one hour we were able to see the partially exposed head," Kulls continues. "I was able to feel that it seemed mostly firm, but unusually hollow in one small section. This was yet another ominous sign."
Then came the clincher.
"Within the next hour of thaw, a break appeared up near the feet area. ... I observed the foot which looked unnatural, reached in and confirmed it was a rubber foot."
That jibes with what Jerry Parrino, owner of Internet Halloween-costume retailer TheHorrorDome.com, told FOXNews.com last week.
"It definitely looks like our [Sasquatch] costume," Parrino said after viewing photos of the body.
The Biscardi team immediately went into crisis mode. Biscardi called Whitton and Dyer at their California hotel. They admitted it was a hoax and agreed to sign a promissory note at a meeting set for 8 a.m. Pacific time at the hotel.
But when Biscardi got there, he "found that they had left."
"At this time action is being instigated against the perpetrators of this fraud," Kulls writes on Biscardi's Web site. "On behalf of myself I can say with certainty Matthew Whitton and Ricky Dyer [are] not the best Bigfoot trackers in the world!"Ken

So it was all a hoax after all, huh? That Bigfoot body that looked like nothing more than a frozen halloween costume turned out to be...nothing more than a frozen halloween costume. Gee, who would have thunk? ;D

The one thing that struck me as odd about this whole thing was the lack of photos presented. In this day and age when essentially every phone is a camera and most cameras can store hundreds if not thousands of high quality pictures, these "professional" bigfoot hunters can't produce a singe quality photo of their great discovery. If I were to find a bigfoot corpse, I would take literally thousands of detailed photos before going public. I just can't figure out what their motive was. This whole cat and mouse game with the media could only last so long before they were found out. The truth was more likely to come out sooner than later. Now, they're discredited on a national scale and for what? The article above says Biscardi paid them for access to the alleged bigfoot. Was it just about getting a couple of bucks? If that's all this was, these guys should just have some dignity and rob a convenience store like everyone else.

Bigfoot Hoaxers Resurface, Blame California Promoterwww.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,408082,00.html Bigfoot hoaxers Rick Dyer and Matthew Whitton are back in the limelight — and they're blaming Tom Biscardi, the California promoter who trotted them out for a nationally televised press conference last Friday.
Back home in Georgia after their brief moment in the big time, Dyer and Whitton told two Atlanta TV stations Wednesday that the entire affair was a "joke" that got out of hand.
"I just wanted to put out some good news," Dyer told Joanna Massee of WGCL-TV. "People are upset with the war and stuff — what's so bad about Bigfoot? Nobody got hurt."
The men admitted they bought the Sasquatch suit over the Internet, and showed WSB-TV's Mark Winne a Web page at TheHorrorDome.Com selling it.
"It got into something much bigger than it was supposed to be," Whitton told Winne. "It started off as just some YouTube videos and a Web site. ... We're all about having fun."
Two people definitely aren't smiling. One is Clayton County Police Chief Jeffrey Turner, who fired Whitton from his job as a police officer Tuesday after the hoax came to light.
"A defense attorney could put him on the stand and say, 'You lied about this — how do we know you're not lying now?'" Turner told FoxNews.com. "A police officer needs credibility and honor."
Whitton will be allowed to contest his termination, and he insists he's still an honest man.
"I don't believe it does affect my credibility at all, because this is Bigfoot," he told Winne. "It would be one thing if I came out and said I had something else that is tangible or real, but right now, as far as I'm concerned, there is no real Bigfoot."
The other unhappy party is Biscardi, who accuses Dyer and Whitton of running off with the $50,000 advance he gave them a week ago. According to an employee of his Searching for Bigfoot company, Biscardi plans to sue.
"There will be legal action," Catherine Ortez told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "If this was a joke, it was very methodical and thought-out."
Neither of the TV interviewers asked Dyer and Whitton about the money, but the men have hired a prominent defense lawyer.
They also briefly posted a YouTube video arguing that Biscardi knew all along that the Bigfoot body was bogus. It was taken down, but Cryptomundo.com managed to save it for posterity.
"We have proof," Dyer told Massee. "Not proof of Bigfoot — we have proof of everything, and that's what's gonna come out in the next couple of days."Ken

This is nice. So let me get this straight, they're saying their motivation for doing this is somehow connected to the war in Iraq? When I look at the problems facing the world today, somehow believing in the idea of a sasquatch stuffed in a freezer doesn't seem to make me feel any better. And like the guy said, they just lied and lied and lied and allegedly received $50,000 based on those lies. It's not like they did anything wrong. If you lie about something that's not real, that makes it okay. Everybody knows that. What's the big deal?

They wasted their time doing this, as opposed to doing something that might be construed as helpful to people? Sad. All those who felt that this was a hoax from the get-go, put your hat on.

Bigfoot Hoax 'Body' Up for Sale on eBaywww.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,437105,00.html Remember that Bigfoot hoax back in August? Now you can own the fake "body."
A North Carolina man claims to be selling the original rubber Halloween costume on eBay, complete with the basement freezer it was kept in.
• Click here to see the eBay auction page.
Paranormal entrepreneur Joshua P. Warren says he's working with Rick Dyer and Matt Whitton, the Georgia hunters who claimed, for a while at least, to have shot and/or found the "corpse" in the forest.
To refresh your memory, Dyer and Whitton went on TV with notorious Bigfoot hunter Tom Biscardi on Aug. 15 to announce the "discovery" to the world.
The next day, someone working for Biscardi thawed out the frozen specimen, only to find it was a rubber suit stuffed with animal entrails.
Accusations and counter-accusations flew, Whitton lost his job as a police officer and an Indiana man who'd fronted Biscardi the $50,000 used to buy the body was left holding the bag.
Warren, who e-mailed FoxNews.com directly with news of the auction, claims on the eBay page that the costume's being sold to "settle financial problems created by the hoax."
An e-mailed reply to Warren and a phone call to a number listed on one of his Web sites were not immediately returned.
For your money — bids are currently around $55,000 — you'll get the rubber costume with "non-organic" parts replacing the roadkill guts, the freezer, "legal paperwork to prove its authenticity" and a "personal visit" from Dyer and Whitton.
It's not the first time someone's made money from an eBay auction related to the hoax. Someone in California sold a duplicate head for $600 in late August.
Of course, for $450, you could simply buy the same costume Dyer and Whitton used, minus the entrails, paperwork, freezer and personal appearance.Ken
