I'm not sure that Star Fleet has a hair requirement in place for Captains, and they certainly haven't needed one.
I grew up with Capt. Kirk in re-runs of the 60's series and later at the movies, so I'm partial to him... if forced to chose. However, I did like Picard as well. He's a different kind of man than Kirk, but then again... TNG has a different feel to it from the original incarnation, on purpose.
Both were good to me, in their own ways. With or without hair.

This isn't going to become an argument, is it? Just as a heads-up, we're both going to be banned from the lounge at this rate. BTW, I don't think my parents would be very happy when they see me watching a show they don't agree with. I AM their kid, after all. Steven Oh God no, not an argument at all. That's so not me!! LOL. Sorry if it came across that way. LOL.

Okay... Oh, and Rudolph Ransom! I forgot about him. He was the captain of the U.S.S. Equinox, in a watchable episode of Voyager. He was a bit insane, though. Steven

My sister, Amy, loves the original Enterprise design, but I favor the Enterprise-A. Not the refit, the A. For some reason, the A just seems cooler to me. They botched the new movie design. Must all modern spaceships be "streamlined," even when they aren't designed to go into an atmosphere? Steven AMEN! My brother prefers the original Constitution Class, I prefer the refit design, but the "A" has always been my favorite. The Enterprise-E is a close second. Bald captain, creepy plots, and the fact that my parents don't like it either. Seriously, there are only four out of the six Star Trek captains that have hair: the Enterprise Captain, Pike, Kirk, and Janeway. Steven I'm with irishindyfan, "Next Gen" is my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I love TOS, but there are a lot of weak episodes. I can excuse the view that it is "campy" although I doubt that was intended... well, maybe for a few episodes ( Cat's Paw, I Mudd,, A Piece of the Action, and Trouble with Tribbles. The Original Series is something you really have to appreciate after watching as a child. For instance, my dad was 11 when Star Trek aired in 1966. He has seen every episode of all 5 shows and all 11 movies numerous times. I was introduced to Star Trek at age 6 via Star Trek: Generations. First "Trek" film I saw in theaters, and the first to entice me after a couple of years hating TNG because my dad used to tape over my Power Rangers. ;D ;D ;D Now that I'm 22, I own every movie, both versions of TOS (Original and Remastered), all 7 seasons of TNG, and a couple of episodes of DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise... *mini-throw up in mouth* As for the bald captain, Jean-Luc Picard is the shiz. No arguements. I will win. ;D I grew up with Capt. Kirk in re-runs of the 60's series and later at the movies, so I'm partial to him... if forced to chose. However, I did like Picard as well. I get it, I get it. You know, it's not so much the bald captains that bother me as much as the plots of most of the TNG shows. The bald captains just give me an excuse to make fun of them.

Point taken. Can we please stop debating about TOS vs. TNG? I'll stop right here.

I wasn't trying to participate in a debate. All I was doing was stating why I prefer TNG to TOS. I'm not saying either is better. It was a very close race for me until a couple of years ago. I love 'em both.

Chekov? Seriously?? LOL. Well, my 2 biggest crushes on Star Trek would have to be Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) and Jolene Blalock (T'Pol). Use your imagination as to why this is so. LMAO!!!

Let's find something else to talk about besides all of Trek's sexy actors/actresses. LOL.

How about the BEAUTIFUL starships? As I've said earlier in this thread, mine's the Enterprise-A. (NOT the refit, the A) Steven

I think so. Then again, it was shown in Enterprise in a "possible" future. I don't pay much credence to that show.

As far as the Enterprise goes my list shakes out like this: 1) Original Constitution Class TOS Enterprise 2) Enterprise A 3) Enterprise D 4) Enterprise D with 3rd Engine Nacelle from "All Good Things" (I know this was a possible future, but the ship was still cool.) 5) Enterprise B 6) Enterprise C 7) Enterprise E 8) Enterprise from 2009 Star Trek movie. I also always liked the Miranda Class, and the Nebula Class ships.
