I recently purchased this jacket from the President of the Lucasfilm Fan Club. It is brand new but has been sitting bagged up for 9 years. I really like the grain of the leather on this jacket. It is the EXACT texture I have been looking for. Even though it has been sitting in storage for so long it is very soft and puffy. NEWAFTER A THOROUGH SOAKING AND DRYER TREATMENTSorry my color balance is off. I will try to take some new shots soon. Cheers, John

That is a sweet looking jacket! It reminds me of the older Cooper/Wings jacket you got from Professor Wex. Especially the color and grain of the leather. Any ideas as to the jacket's original maker? Congrats on the new jacket, John!

Thats a sharp looking jacket John, How much did that set you back? Sam, Due to the rareness of this jacket, 9 years old and never worn, I offered him $400.00 to pull the Auction and just sell me the jacket. That is a sweet looking jacket! It reminds me of the older Cooper/Wings jacket you got from Professor Wex. Especially the color and grain of the leather. Any ideas as to the jacket's original maker? Congrats on the new jacket, John! Griff, There are no markings or labels to identify the maker. However you are 100% correct that the color and leather grain are just like the old Cooper/Wings. The main differences are that the old C/W is dried out and very stiff. Especially the sleeves. I have tried every type of Pecard's product to soften the leather up with no good results. This jacket is a soft as any brand new Lambskin jacket. This one also has the upper and lower snaps on the storm flap and double stitching on the shoulder and sleeve seams. If I had to guess what company made the jacket I would go with Cooper/Wings. This one puts an end to my jacket search once and for all. Cheers, John

GAWD!! Now that's what I'm talkin' about.. why can't anyone make this nowadays? That leather is awesome, very much like the Wings clearance jacket I just sold...which was antique lambskin. What leather are you thinking this one is? What's the lineing like, no leather facings - right? Very cool, congratulations.

That is one damn fine looking coat you got there. That's pretty awesome, very TOD after the soaking. The New shots looked RAIDERs, but the soaking and the pockets of course really add a nice TOD look. Congrats you lucky son of a-.

Cool catch John. That has some serious character to it! Thanks KT. When I saw the pics he had up for the Auction I knew that I wanted this jacket. That is why I made such a high offer. You just don't see many around like this. Especially brand new. GAWD!! Now that's what I'm talkin' about.. why can't anyone make this nowadays? What's the lineing like, no leather facings - right? Very cool, congratulations. Doug C Actually this one does have the leather facings. I think the liner is a Heavy Duty cotton. At first I thought about having the liner replaced but on second thought I realized I would be able to wear this in colder weather. Which I get plenty of here in Chicago. lordxhelmetx, IndyBlues, Ramiel and jc1972 Thanks guys, I couldn't be happier that I was at the right place at the right time to snatch this jacket up. I think this is one of 'Once in a Lifetime' chances. Cheers, John

I'd say the Wings connection is probably accurate and evidenced by the strap configuration, too low on the body of the jacket and the way they attach to the sides. Plus the back panel not extending all the way to the sleeve seams. All minor details for sure. That leather though, is to die for.

Jacket. Hat. RAIN?!? I'm going to pass-out...
No, I didn't, but man... You are really brave (or mad) to put that stuff under the rain (I would close it in a sealed display!) ;D

John, I'm glad this jacket turned out to be just what you were hoping it was. I know how much you dig this leather and it even fits! Ken Ken, Thanks. It truely is the jacket I have been searching for since 1981. Fits great too. Ramiel, When it comes to my Hats and Jackets..... If I can't wear them outside in the elements I don't need them. The Deluxe has been reblocked twice and I believe the felt is as dead as could be. No matter what I put it through it stays the same and as far as the jacket goes the rain only seems to give it more character. It's Gear, you wear it. ;D Cheers, John

Ok for a jacket (and I can't wait to save enough money for one), because it could be one of the few parts of Indy gear I would wear everyday (as well as boots and the whip... Don't ask me why! ;D) But the hat and the rest (well, maybe except for the shirts and pants) are strictly for "costuming"... More or less... If I was an "hat" guy, I would have chosen a very "durable" hat, and I'm glad to know that yours it is! Of course my previous comment was mostly ironic, but it started a nice conversation... Anyway I still think that you really found a great jacket, and most important your DREAM jacket! Congatulations!

John, Thos pics look great! That jacket has developed so much character, it's almost unbelievable! It looks awesome with the AB Deluxe, too, though I can't say you look too thrilled to be standing around in the rain for the sake of some pics. ;D Anyways, congrats again on the awesome and unique addition to your gear!

John, tell me there was not some kid standing next to you with a waterhose for that picture j/k.. actually I've done the same, get a new jacket and as soon as the rain starts I head out to make sure it gets good and soaked, standing under roof runoff etc, in July! and probably will again. Doug C

Nice! I had one of those, bought from Disney World in '94. They were made by Cooper. The tags that came with mine even had 'Cooper Leather' on them. Could you possibly take a close-up shot of the tag, the one inside near the collar?
