Hello, So I am quickly becoming obsessed with the Indy Jacket! I have a Wested Novapelle LC style and I love it! So now I have just ordered a U.S. Wings Collectors edition XL-Long. I am wondering if Disneyland has a decent looking jacket? Has anyone been to Disneyland or Disney world lately and seen the jacket? I went to Disneyland in 2005 and they had the jacket and it was killer looking! Then I went again in February 2008 and holly cow the jacket looked cheap! I don’t mean too disrespect Disney but come on! I am sure Wested, Gibson & Barnes, Todd’s and any other of the plethora of jacket makers would like to have a BIG Disney account, Maybe not? Anyways I am just wondering if anyone has seen the Disney jacket lately? Thanks, Indyzane

When I went to Disneyland in December '07, they had only a suede leather jacket with the Indiana Jones logo on the left breast. Not screen accurate at all. More of a modified A-2. They used to sell Westeds, but they stopped doing so around 1991 or '92. After that, jacket quality slowly degraded. (I had a season pass, and hung out in Adventureland a lot) With the new movie out, that may have changed, but i kind of doubt it

There's nothing at Disney Hollywood (used to be MGM) Studios here in FL.

Bakersfield, are you sure Disneyland used to sell Westeds? To my knowledge Wested has NEVER had any of their stuff sold in the disney parks, only the "officially licensed" merchandise gets sold there. I do believe the Disney parks used to sell Cooper jackets, as I can recall seeing some on a trip to Disney MGM back in the early 90's. Last time I was down that way, (last September) they didn't have any jackets at all though. I'm surprised that they still don't have any jackets for sale, I thought for sure they would have stocked up with some with the new Indy movie out.

The contract with MGM had run out and they had no need or desire to renew it, just FYI.
The name officially changed to "Disney's Hollywood Studios" on January 1st, 2008.... so the names had to be changed on everything. They began removing many smaller signs before the end of the year, just to make the change a little quicker.
Oh and.... Disney parks have never sold Wested jackets.

Are you talking about the contract between Cooper (U.S. Wings) and Disney to sell jackets? Or the contract between Lucasfilm and Disney to sell official Indiana Jones merchandise? Just curious (and a bit worried that it might be the second one)

Just curious (and a bit worried that it might be the second one) The contract between Disney and MGM, which was used for many years: Disney's MGM Studios. Once that ran out, they just changed it to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Sorry to mislead you Griff. I was responding to a question just above the one with the Wested jacket comment. Ken

Ken Hey, no problem, Ken! It was my mistake, anyways. I'm just glad that you weren't referring to the contract between Disney and Lucasfilm. I never even stopped to think about the whole Disney / MGM thing...

My bad. I should have said "Wested type" jackets. They had the high yoke, gussets, and buckles...about $375, as I recall. They had the Disney/Indiana Jones label where the designer label would be. Sorry about the goof.

I have the answer you have all been waiting for! I just got home from Disneyland and I went to the Indy Gear Store. The Jacket isn't that nice, it's cheap looking and looks like crap, well lets just leave it to that. I would stick with Wested, U.S. Wings, TODDS, G&B, Tony Nowak. I hope this might help some of you out looking for a Indy Jacket. Cheers, Indyzane

I know I took a buncha pics of the truck, but I went to the Indy outfitter right across from the ride. The jacket they had was like a lamb/suede feeling jacket with A-2 style cuffs. Indiana Jones font logo on left breast. Waaaay overpriced, (but being Disney, that's not a shocker.)
