My new G&B Expedition Jacket

That goatskin sure looks nice and seems to fit you pretty well, IMO!

Oh yeah.... the shine goes away too as you wear it, or quicker if you wear it in the rain a few times. Now wad it up, ball it up, sit on it, and..... uh.... I mean, hang it up nicely and enjoy!

Nice jacket! I have the same jacket, in seal brown goat. G&B's just keep getting better with age. Once you wear off the "new jacket" feel, it'll conform to you real nice.

I've got the same jacket in the lambskin, but man does that goat looks nice! I love the texture of the hide...it seems to have a lot more character to it right out of the box than the lamb, which starts out very smooth. That's a keeper for sure! Oh and Ken is right, I think it looks like it fits you great and it will only conform more and more to your body shape / size as you wear it.

Thanks guys and a big thanks to this forum. All the great reviews of the G&B jackets really helped me in making my decision.

Nothing smells like a new G&B right out of the box. In fact, it's almost overpowering. When mine was brand new you could smell it in the living room when it was hung up in my den! I'm not complaining though, now that the "scent" is wearing off a bit, I think I kind of miss it.

BTW... Are the pocket flaps more scalloped than usual? Or is my mind playing tricks on me.

Well, I'm not sure what the usual pocket flaps look like, but the gys on "the other forum" said that I lucked out and got the SA pocket flaps. So I guess they are more scalloped.

Last night I ran my jacket through the washing machine and dryer and slept in it. Looks awesome now. Nice wrinkles and really formed to my body.

This goat is tougher than I thought. An entire warm water wash cycle and tumbled in the dryer for 80 minutes with no shrinkage. That alone is a testament to it's toughness.

Every G&B I have ever seen has had identical pocket flaps...their precision in cutting the pattern is second to none. I have observed that the perception of scallopocity (new word!) tends to change depending on the angle of the pic, so that could be making yours look extra scallopy.

As for "lucking out" when it comes to G&B getting the details right, that's a load of garbage. Luck has nothing to do with it, unlike some vendors, G&B is VERY consistent when it comes to the detail work.

I'll wholeheartedly second the notion that G&B delivers the same cut every time, on every jacket. Some people like to find things to debate when they are limited to one topic all the time. However, a few things in this hobby are simply not debateable, and the consistency of a G&B jacket design is one of them.

Shoot us some pics of your recently washed and worn jacket, if you can. I would like to see how that came out.
