Wested's new goat

In case anyone is thinking about ordering a Wested in the new goatskin, here are some pics. Sorry if I look a bit vacant - I'm drugged to the eyeballs with antihistermines.





This jacket has been out of the bag for about 2 hours. It's Wested's new off the peg offering in new goatskin. The goat is thinner than the old goat and very soft. It has a similar weight to wested's lamb and a good drape - which feels like it can only get better.
The arm holes are similar to the 80s fit of my Horsehide jacket but have polyester lining instead of satin. The same goes for the pocket lining. The pockets are larger than on my HH - which I'm pleased about as I can fit a diary inside. The straps have recrtangular sliders instead of D-rings.
The zip is not as heavy duty as Wested's regular brass zip, and the jacket seems to have the shoulder pads that the special offer lamb has.
The jacket felt a bit plasticy at first and was quite shiny. A quick blast with the shower and a bit of scrunching seems to have taken care of that already.

Most importantly for me - the fit is how I wanted it. The length is spot on.
Compare to my HH. It's about an inch and half longer - but that's a crucial inch and a half!

Wow, that jacket looks great and I can tell just by looking at the pics that the new goat is softer than the goatskin jacket I used to own. That almost makes me want to order one myself.

So the color is authentic brown, correct? And this is the standard Raiders jacket Peter is offering now?

I think the new jacket really fits you to a "T" Pagey! Congrats!

Yup, authentic brown and that's the off the rack jacket with no mods.
I am thrilled with this goat! It is so much lighter than my old goat but with the same tough feel to the hide. I really believe it's the best hide that Wested offers if you want the Raiders look. The modern lamb just doesn't get that Raiders tough, creasy but drapey look. This does! MY jacket problems are officially over.

That's a great looking Wested, Pagey! The color and cut are very nice on this one, and the leather seems to have lots of character to it already! I thought your old HH looked good as well, but I can see how the extra inch and a half makes a difference on the goat.
