hehehe lol ! DARn This movie is waaaaaay OverHyped in Holland ,, People saying this can be put in the same Sentence as , Empire Strikes Back , or raiders of the lost ark Thats Blasemy !! these Movies are nowhere near the level of Esb or rotla !!! It's been described like that here as well in some reviews. I see quite a few similarities in the action and the character story arcs that remind me of Empire and Raiders...Well, more like the Indy movies in general as far as action goes. I don't have a problem with the comparison, but.......because I'm a really big FAN of the Indy and Star Wars films nothing is ever going to be able to rise to their level. I think people like me have to take that into account when judging newer films like this. Depending on how the third film plays out this could end up being one heck of a trilogy!

I watched Pirates two days ago and WOW!!! the movie is awesome by all means! I've started to be a fan with the first one, and i'm hooked to it ever since, the crew is perfect so it is their adventures, their acting, the chemistry between all...it really amazes me! Jack Sparrow is my favorite character, oh my gosh when he scapes from the indians ;D The end it was like 'HUH!??' unexpected one, now I got what some have said about the end...it's a promiss the 3rd will be there!

Well, I just decided to go to Downtown Disney in Anaheim to go see the movie, just cause it seemed like the best place to see the movie. So, I went and saw it, and I thought the movie had good dialouge and the acting that was there was good. The problems I had with it were the massive amounts of CGI espically on Davy Jones face. I would have rather seen a Disney use an animatronic face with an actor inside. They have the money and the potential and didn't use it. The kraken was also a bit of a disapointment, not because it was CGI, but because when Jack pulls out his sword to fight it, the kraken is easily recognised as a blue screen, as it all appears "flat" and not 3 dimensional. The best part of the movie was defenitley the ending, that was top notch, almost passing Darth Vader's speil at the end of The Empire Strikes Back. So that's my little opion on that, but I have a bit more to share... Pirates of the Carribean inside Disneyland (The Ride smart one! ). And sure enough Everything revolves around Captain Jack himself. They have even added animatronics of Jack, but they have obviously been voiced by someone else... that or Johnny had a cold. The ride course is the same, but the audio has been changed to make it appear as Jack is a criminal looking for a lost treasure. So basically everyone is after Jack... including the dogs. Suprisingly though, Jack looks likey he does on screen, which I do give Disney props for. Also added was Davy Jones whom appears after you exit the caverns through a mist filled water fall. Unforunatley he is screen accurate too and just looks fake. Overall, Disney has kinda messed to much with the ride... I don't mind Captain Jack, but I don't think everything in the ride needs to revolve around him... and no need to say anything about Davy Jones. Tycoonman

Thanks for the review of the changes for the ride at Disneyland, Tycoonman. My family and I are going to all 4 Disney parks in Orlando again in a couple of months. I will be able to share any differences in the two, though I'm guessing they are pretty much the same. I actually thought they did a really great job with the CGI work on Davie Jones' face. But, that's the real beauty of opinions.... no two people have to share them. Ken

I saw the TV Guide special on Pirates last night and they showed a bit of the ride when Johnny Depp went through it to see the changes. The animatronic of Jack looked really close to Johnny. In one shot Johnny was actually standing next to it and it looked real.
I think it's great they changed it and added them. That way when kids go back through it they can feel like their in the movie.
Johnny loved the ride and went through it twice.
I can't wait to go back and see it.

Wow, I haven't seen that stuff since I'd been down there. Thanks for posting those. I was there the first year that part of the park opened and the Indy show was the first thing we went to. I don't know if they've changed the show or not but I could have swore the Indy gear the stunt guys were wearing looked more authentic then that. Blues, I think it's time you and I went there and showed them what Indy's supposed to look like. You grab the Idol and I'll take out the Germans! ;D

Let's hope they have improved the costume by then... Probally not, most of the items he is wearing is built safety first, as you can till by the missing side straps on the jacket, Universally worn, I'm sure they also have many diffrent actors who perform as Indy, so the costume he wears must be universal between , and finally acuracy. And as far as Disney is concerned the offcially lisenced product by Lucus Film are screen accurate. You guys should see the Indiana Jones jacket they're selling now... talk about accuracy. ;D Tycoonman

By the way here's an update on how Pirates is doing! Walt Disney Pictures' summer blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest took the top spot at the box office for a third-straight weekend with an estimated $35 million, a drop of 43.8% in ticket sales, for a total of $321.7 million. The last time a summer film was in first place for three straight weekends was American Pie 2 in 2001. "Dead Man's Chest" crossed the $300 million mark domestically on Saturday, it's 16th day, setting a new record. The previous record was held by Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, which crossed the mark in 17 days. The second installment has also passed the $305 million domestic total that its predecessor, 2003's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, earned during its entire run. Within a week, the film is expected to top the $339.7 million domestic take of Finding Nemo to become Disney's top-grossing movie. "Dead Man's Chest" has also climbed to the 16th spot on the all-time domestic list. The "Pirates" sequel has reached $539 million worldwide, which puts it 37th on the all-time worldwide list with still a long time to go.
