Improved diary inserts and a few other things. Being unsatisfied with the quality of the inserts of my (low cost) grail diary replica, I endeavoured to replicate my own on my printer using the link found here in this forum and another provided by dbcooper. Thanks again by the way. I plan to replicate more, but I'm lacking a good quality picture of Henri and Junior (you know, the one made whit a pic of S-Connery with a dark beard and a young R-Phoenix) I also printed the COW poster and Nazi's "wanted" flyers for the fun of it... My newly (homemade) printed inserts...The reverse side of the flyers and some of the inserts...Note the difference in printing quality... (homemade on top) and the provided (blurry one below) ticket is printed on one side only. Note the quality in detail compared to the provided dollar... (homemade dollar on the bottom) The Nazi symbol really looks like it's stamped over the glued-on pic...I think these new inserts will somewhat upgrade the authenticity of my diary replica.

Wow, those all look awesome!!! I haven't acquired a grail diary yet, but I might still print a few of these off if I can locate the links. Stefana, you said you found the links right here on the lounge, eh? -GCR

Nice work Stef, and fast too. You wasted no time at all.
You and I are working to the same ends. I was not satisfied with my inserts either. I just finished revamping the Boston train ticket so that it doesn't look so blurred. Mine did not have the oppisite side printed either. I will try and post an image as soon as I get some card stock and print it up.
The picture of Indy's mother and the scripture verse should be printed on nice paper and then glued to a darker, firmer paper or card stock. Like you would see at a funeral home. In the early twentieth century pictures would be kept in almost fancy cardboard folders with corners on the photos to hold them in place.
Antiques shops sometimes have these. I found a few for a $1.00 each. I also found the Italian stamp from the Grail Diary packaging as well. It is very small.
Just an idea.

yes you have done a great job there.this will add the quality of your diary.but one thing I saw that club obi wan flyer.I would not suggest having that in your diary if thats what were planning to do?this is not an insert that matches the other diary inserts.but hey......if you like it who am I to say you cant have as an Insert?it was just a suggestion.
hight regards Holt

No I wasn't planning on adding it, as I stated before..."I also printed the COW poster and Nazi's "wanted" flyers for the fun of it..." I will just post it on a wall...somewhere. Thanks anyway for the advice.

Cool new additions!!! Man, where are you finding all this stuff? With all these inserts ready to print, I could just buy a blank diary, hand-draw a few key pages and fill the rest of it with these cool inserts! Oh, and if you don't mind me asking, what exactly is "Indyquest"?

Very well done Stefana That's why these downloads are available to start with Regards, Marc P.S.: There seems to be something wrong on the German text where the stamp is. If you want me to have a look at it, let me know.

Is there some kind of a tutorial out there that shows how to put one of these together? I've never really looked into the Grail Diary prop that much because it always seemed like it would be very complicated to put one together. Prop replicator I'm not and I definitely wouldn't want to go buy one......especially after recent events.

Thanks very much Marc ! I would't know as I cann't read German. And I'm not sure I could change the lettering on the downloaded file. Her is the link anyway... www.indyquest.nl/Download/Wanted_indy.zipThanks again Marc. The "Indy age 10" pic is now added to Indyquest (and "Indy age 1" pic) of a much better quality...more printing to be done !

Oh man, that entire text is so bloody wrong, I'd have to rewrite it completely...
I'll see if I can find the time one of these days.

Can we see it ? ...Huh, please ? I am curious, cause thinking more about what I've said earlier about the replica I've obtained ..."the inserts will look better than the diary ! " I am considering making my own...I'm just not sure if I want to do the "hero prop" replica like the one used in the movie, (with repeated pages) or Marc's version of the complete chronological diary.

well I have finished my own produced diary today,it's been a long journey to make it as perfect as it can be.it became 99% accurate to the real deal. I have made like the hero prop but with out repeated pages.it is made as a tool for henry to find the grail.it is not made as a pesonal diary with thought's and feeling and such.like Magnoli's.
as I said above it has been a long journey with research to match everything with the rest of the original prop.I even got the handwriting 99% spot on. I am not trying to brag about my work if it sounds like that I just became so darn pleased with it.so,I am a little proud,yes.....I'll post some picture tonight I think...
Now,....on to the Indy diary replicating......
I say go with the version you have always wanted,as what I did with mine...
Best regards Holt

The website belongs to a friend in Denmark (Jan). All I did was writing the text.
@holt: Nothing wrong with being proud of your work IMO. So am I about mine.

Please do post pics ! If you don't mind me asking, how did you know in what order to place your pages to match the hero prop ?...and without the repeated pages ? I know I can't rely on my "low quality" diary replica. If the response is too elaborate for this thread you can always PM me. That is probably where I will have the most trouble...I can draw images fine but I don't have a nice handwriting. I can reproduce drawings and images but cannot copy handwriting properly...go figure ?

I will post some pictures.my diary is based on the hero prop and a back up diary.so most pages are in order of the hero prop and a couple are from the b prop.but not much. this is not a story diary.I never acctually liked the idea with a story.(no offence marc) then I think it becomes more like an ''ordinary'' diary.that's not what I wanted.I wanted the diary be like a ''tool'' in search of the grail. I drew everything and wrote all I wanted in the diary and matched them with both hero prop and brop order.the diary is 228 pages long not 288 like the hero prop.I figured if you are gonna own a diary it will be most likley that you own a bprop rather then the hero prop wich is only made one of and is in the possesion of george lucas himself.I think there were made 8 bprop diaries,so...more likley, yes?
