Well folks, I am the proud owner of the VERY FIRST AB DELUXE in the USA. Marc made a true work of art for me. The Beaver Marc is using is a beautiful color. His pouncing job is as close to perfect as I could imagine. The sweatband is extremely soft and comfortable. The fit is perfect. Marc includes a layer of onionskin between the sweatband and the felt to keep the felt safe from sweat I am sold on the AB DELUXE for certain. 100%. Any questions, please ask away. \ Outside in the rain. Cheers, John

Jakob,
You will be happier than you can imagine when it does arrive. This Fedora is worth it no matter how long you wait.
Best Wishes, John

I believe so - I will be going directly from a crappy tapered wool fedora to an AB deluxe. Like switching from a Toyota to a Bentley I imagine I am buying this hat in order to wear it everyday - so I decided to go for the best I could get. This hat will be worn on archaeological digs as well as on nights out on town. My wool fedora has already become somewhat of a personal trademark symbol for me at my study (prehistoric archaeology) and in the local LARP community. If people see me without it, they ask me where it is /Jakob

Cheers, John Not that I'm doubting it's a great hat and it was well worth the wait but this photo makes the crown look really wide....almost like a it's bulging outward from the ribbon. Now I know the SOC bash has the "turn" the tightened ribbon and such but this just seems bigger than I'm used to seeing it for some reason. Maybe it's all because of the photo. I would love to see the hat from different angles when you get a chance. I will say this even from that photo you can just see that the hat is super soft.

Harry, It is definately the photo. When I post new pics I am going to delete the existing one. It does the hat no justice. Cheers, John Yeah, I figured that was the case, this photo looks like there is some kind of "motion blur" thing going on with it. Of course I know full well how difficult it is to take photo's and try and make things look as good as they do in real life on film. I look forward to seeing more pics of the hat.

from what i see, the deluxe seems to be very flexable and not stay so ridged in shape like other hats. It seems like any ding or bash u do to it, will stay there.

G-Mann.... That is a really good looking hat. That other picture did not do that hat any justice whatsoever. You did bash that yourself, didn't you? I like it a lot and I love how the brim and the sides look. Has very SOC look to it. May I ask how much you paid for that?

Yes I always bash my own Fedoras.
If you want to know the cost please send me a PM and I will check my records for you. However I got a deal from Marc because I placed the order when he was giving a break to the first 10 people to order from him. This was even before he had his blocks and flanges. And I am REALLY HAPPY that I did. Marc and I have developed a great friendship that I now value even more than this gorgeous hat that he made for me.
Cheers, John

Not that I was going to buy one anytime soon. I was just curious because with the Fed. Regular and Fed. Deluxe there is a slight price increase and I was figuring the same thing would apply with these hats as well. I remember seeing the post about that offer. I always figured I'd order one from Fedora because he's here in the US. Although, by the time I go to get one Fedora may be retired! That truly is a beautiful hat.

This may sound strange but it actually feels as good as it looks and it is very, very comfortable with the super soft sweatband that Marc uses. John When I grow up I wanna be an AB DELUXE

I wish we could get a clear shot of this hat. I know if Marc's using beaver it must be very similar in feel to the normal AB. I know, I know, there are clean pictures down the pipe. It's just so frustrating to see the first AB Deluxe in "town" like that. ;D Waiting for that rain to stop, G-MANN. In the meantime, congratulations!

John When I grow up I wanna be an AB DELUXE There's that Beaver pic again! Were you the one that posted this originally over at COW? Hhaha....That pic cracks me up. Yeah, you can see it in the photo's that the hat looks really soft. Man, I'd guard that thing with my life. You wouldn't want someone swiping it like what happened to that poor guy over at COW.

I had the extreme honor of being the second person in the US to hold the prized AB Delux. I stopped over at G-mann's place (to take a Fedora off his hands ;D ) and was able to see this beauty first hand. The hat is BEAUTIFUL! A true work of art. Thanks again John for my new, wonderful Peter Bros. fedora!
