That's really great work. I guess the main question would be how did you do it? What type of paper did you use for it as well? I really like how yours turned out and I'd like to get mine to look like that.

Hi.Thanks Uhmm...the aging method that I am using is a really good method, but it is a veeeeery long progress. first. the paper is a parchment paper. second. the aging is light coffea rubbed in,now thats easy. third.I leave it in a very wet and moist basement under prashure for about 3-6 weeks (depends on the weather)than in time i get real moist stains. after that I leave it in the owen for a couple minuts.(now really hold your eye on the map,so it doesn't overbakes) and voil'a one Raiders map done! Hope this helps a bit Holt

Ah, I see. Thanks for sharing that with all of us. I guess I'm going to have to go out and look to see if I can find some parchment paper to print my map out and try your method. Again, you did an excellent job and it looks like you stole it from Indy himself!

I finally made myself one...(using the link graciously provided) and framed it. It was photographed without a flash to catch all the "wrinkles" and avoid reflection in the glass. It was made kinda quickly and is no way near the quality of your work "Holt" I'm sure, (I don't have the right paper or "aging" technique) but it looks nice from a distance in the study near my gear.

Hi.I think your's is one of the best looking out there,I have seen a lot of them over at COW and people have E-mailed and PM'd me there maps to get my opinion on them and some tips.so I think you did a great job on it, May I suggest taking it out again and spray a little coffea on it with a spray bottle.

Why, thank you very much !! Well, I already put stains on it (with acrylic paint thinned with water) but I noticed the ink of the map would fade and dissolve wherever I added some stains...So I stained around the printed elements.

when i look at this i get the feeling someones comin up behind me with a cocked revolver.... it's that good!
I made some of my own props for my Indy fanfilm in the works, and literally took pics of old parchment and typed the stuff i needed onto DTP, printed it out in colour and the printout looks like ancient parchment. then burnt the edges off to look ragged and old around the edges

There are other threads in this section with links to printable maps, but this guy left quite a while ago. I'm sending the links to a few printable files via PM.
