Hmmm...that's strange, your jacket didn't look baggy in any of the pictures you posted of it when you first got it. Is it really bad? I never thought there was all that much difference between a 44 and 42 that one would consider a mere size up to be baggy. How about some pics of it on? Might be able to offer better advice that way. If a quick answer is all you need, though, then I would say if you measure 42, then you probably need a 42. -GCR

well its a bit to baggy under the armes and chest and it stand out a bit from the back.the hole thing is just a little to loose and that bothers me soooo much,so thats why i decided to not wear it anymore,
it looks like i am twice the size I am from seeing me from behind. I just want a trim ans slim fit.a jacket you only can almost wear just a shirt underneath

Makes perfect sense to me... If that's the case I'd order a new one a size down. That should solve your problems. Was your current jacket a custom order or an "off the rack" jacket? Either way, I'm guessing sending the original jacket back is out of the question at this point, since, as I recall, you did some distressing to it, right? I'd offer your current jacket for sale here and at any other gear-related forums you go to. Best of luck!

Don't go down to a 40, I really think that would be too small for you.
I'm one of the rare persons that can generally wear an off-the-rack coat (suit jacket or regular jacket) in a 40R. In most cases, the sleeves, chest, and bottom fit me very well.
But with your measurements, the 40R will definitely be too small. (I'm 40 chest, 32 waist).
Another idea might be to try the fitted (custom) jacket. You could have someone measure you for the fitting I'm sure. A tailor will measure the following:
Shoulders Chest (under arms) Mid-torso Waist Front Length (from neckline to waist) Back Length (from back of neckline to waist) Arm length - straight (from shoulder to wrist) Arm length - bent at 45 (from shoulder to wrist)
I've been through enough suit fittings to have this memorized. I'm sure if you ordered a custom jacket and sent your measurements (besides what they have on the order page) you'll get the perfect fit.
Good luck and hope this helps a bit.

You can also order it with an "80's fit". That's a bit slimmer fitting than the standard jacket.

I don't thinka 80's fit would work on you. Your not a slim fit. The best thing to do is take a jacket that you like and take those measurments with your measurments. Send both of these measurments and let wested custome your jacket.

I agree with BendingOak. Same size you have, but "80's fit" will probably be exactly what you're after. The normal fit takes into account us larger folks, and the looser fashion of the last decade.
