Anyone know if the Expos are slim cut 80's style?

Well, the term "80's cut" refers to the way Chris King asked for his Wested to be custom made. I know what you mean though, and I would have to say the answer is yes. The Expedition already has all the additional screen accurate features you would get feature-wise, if you ordered an 80's cut Wested; correct - higher back yoke seam placement and higher sleeve socket placement. Whether or not it's cut as slim through the body would be the only factor.
I believe my Expedition is a touch less roomy than both of my Westeds, but part of that may simply be the higher sleeve socket placement. That really removes a decent piece of additional leather on the sides, under each arm. So, I'm sticking with the yes answer to your question Cowboy.
Anyone else have a comparison that might help?

I'd have to agree with Ken. It's not your "typical" 80's cut, like the Chris King styled jacket, but it is more streamlined than a Wested. Just take a look at GManns pics, with his G&B. He is a slim gentleman, and clothes fit him more "stylized", than say someone of ,..um,..my "stature, lol. 'Blues

For what it's worth, I have a 44 regular Wested and a 44 regular G&B and the G&B has MORE room through the body of the jacket than the Wested. I've put on some weight since I bought the Wested in 2003, though, and the G&B actually fits me better than the Wested does. Maybe Wested altered their standard sizing pattern since '03 and the jackets are running bigger now? I would have to say the G&B seems to be a perfect fit, while the Wested seems a tad on the small side...especially when I've got them zipped up.

It is just the opposite for me. The Wested LC in Cowhide is much looser and has longer sleeves than the G&B Goat. The G&B is more snug across the shoulders when zipped. I am not complaining BTW, just noticing the subtle differences between the two. The Wested Cowhide is so much more warm than the Goat, that I am primarily wearing it now. The G&B is longer in the body but shorter in the sleeves. Both are great jackets. Any way, thanks for the info fellas. I just wondered if the 80's was the SA cut, etc. Now I know. Cheers. BTW, who is Chris King???

Well, based on the pictures, the G&B definitely looks smaller! ;D Seriously though, I wonder if any of the difference in size could be due to the different pattern (LC Wested vs. G&B Raiders) or even the different hide. Or, like I previously mentioned, perhaps Wested began making the jackets a bit more roomy over the last few years? Both of my jackets (2003 Wested and '07 G&B) are Raiders style and lambskin. I'm trying to recall if I made any special requests as far as sizing goes when I ordered the Wested, but as far as I can remember, I only specified a special sleeve length and just left the body of the jacket at "44". By the way, both of the jackets look sweet, Cowboy! I'd love to get my hands on an LC cowhide Wested someday. -GCR

Cowboy,
Both jackets look great in the 2 photographs. The first pic is a bit dark so it's hard to catch all the details.
I also like both the hats. I'm sure when guys that make Cowboy hats most of the time make a regular fedora they are thinking "Man, what a narrow brim."
Cheers, G-MANN

Thanks for the input.

I was tipped over to get the Expo after viewing your famous collection displayed on your back deck Yeah, most Cowboy hats are wide brimmed. I never thought I would like to wear my WOLF'S Fedora as much as I do now. ;D ;D

Does the 80's cut suppose to be slim-cut? I am planning to order another Wested, but I would like it to fit me better than my 42R. I went through 3 jackets with Wested before I finally settled on the one I currently own. I am pleased with its body and sleeve length, but I think it too loose in the waist. What should I stress to the Wested folks when ordering another jacket? I'd appreciate any ideas or comments. Happy New Year! Dunross

Dunross All I know is that I am noticing the subtle differences between my Wested and G&B. The G&B is a slimmer cut. I think that Ken is right when he says it is due to higher arm holes. That said, my wested is in some respects easier to wear as my gut expands. The G&B is a sleeker jacket, like skin. It hugs my shoulders tighter than the Wested. Try the G&B. You will not be sorry.
