I'm 6'1 and I weigh 184. I've always worn an X-Large in the "Off the rack" jackets and they've always worked for me and that's what I ordered with this.
I wear a 44 regular in suit jackets.

44 = a size small? That's an interesting way to size these... Like PH, I take a 44 suit jacket, but I tend to buy "off the rack" jackets in either size Large or X-Large. If I had been ordering one of these, I would have been way off! ;D Still, it's good to actually see the sizes outlined in black and white. Anyways, PH, I hope your jacket fits OK! -GCR

Back when I went to order my Wested I measured my black Wilsons Leather jacket, which is an x-large , and the measurements came out close to the x-large size on Todd's chart and that jacket fits me just fine. Has Todd mentioned when these would start shipping?

What a great jacket at a great price. These are on your site Todd correct? Not sure if it was an Indy Lounge "exclusive' price.

I think Todd just measures different then the westeds I think you should add 4 inch to everything.(for Chest)

I think Todd just measures different then the westeds I think you should add 4 inch to everything.(for Chest) European measurements and U.S. measurements are very different for certain articles of clothing, so it would be no surprise that Todd's would differ from Peter's. But, adding inches to the size isn't necessary here, as Todd has provided the exact measurements of the different jacket sizes. Ken

I am wondering...How long will this offer last ?

Post by pitfallharry on Oct 12, 2007 9:29:42 GMT -5
It's not an offer. That's the normal price for these jackets. The only thing I see happening is them selling out at some point but I'm guessing IF that does happen it won't take Todd long to get more in.

Sorry for the confusion on the sizing chart - the dimensions listed are ACTUAL JACKET dimensions in inches, not sizes. If you are a 38 chest, you want a jacket that is 42" - 44" wide. Does that help?

I JUST got the jacket in the mail a few moments ago and the difference in weight between this jacket and my goat is like night and day.......Honestly, I think this will feel a lot more comfortable to wear around with the gear in the spring and summer. Unless I wear a really thick shirt underneath it I can't see it being a good winter jacket. Of course my goat really wasn't meant for that either and I still have to wear a sweater under that too. I've been battling a upper respiratory infection over the last few days so I don't know when I'll get a chance to take pics with it on........maybe if I heavily medicate myself I can go out today. It would be the perfect day to take some shots. It's sunny and 80. The jacket fits me like a glove and I got an extra large. I was thinking *maybe* there would be some extra room but there's really not any.... The gussets work perfect. I love being able to stretch out my arms without the sleeves riding up. I love the color of this jacket and once I started wearing it around the house a little bit the jacket already started relaxing and conforming to my body. So there really isn't very much breaking in time at all. It's ready to go right out of the box. The leather is very soft but it is also very thin. This jacket is very light. So I honestly don't know how much "abuse" it could take. I think as long as you don't go overboard in it and take relatively good care of it the jacket will probably last you a while...... Of course we won't know that for a while.... My goatskin Wested is a damn good jacket but this jacket just screamed Raiders right out of the box. I put the thing on and it really does look like the jacket onscreen.....especially the way it fits. I do believe the sleeves are tapered as well which adds to the look. I'll post pics as soon as I get the chance. I know I haven't owned the jacket for more than an hour but I love it.

Cool news, PH!!! I can't wait to see the pics!!! If I had the extra dough laying around (which I don't) I jump on one of these right now. I AM glad to hear that this will be the regular price, so once I do finally scrape the dough together, these will still be available. I'd love to add a "Coyle's" to my modest jacket collection. Now PH, pop some meds and TAKE SOME PICS!!! ;D -GCR

Oh, I think I'll be able to manage a few shots to post tonight. I only feel bad on the inside! ;D There's no harm in heavily medicating yourself for a good cause. Really, I think IF you guys have the extra cash the jacket would make a great addition to your collection. Oh, and stick to the sizes you wear in an "off the rack" jacket. I REALLY thought this was going to be a little big. I can't imagine how this jacket would fit IF I had gone with a large!! Ok, time to find the meds.....

I don't want to open a new thread for this, because it's just a couple of questions for Todd (if you don't mind). I'm a quite small guy, and (accordiongly to this online converter: www.onlineconversion.com/clothing_mens.htm) I usually wear a 36 (U.S. size, 46 Euro size), My chest circumference is (more or less) 41" (105cm circa), so, accordingly to your size chart, the best size for a jacket for me should be the size Small, correct? I'm looking for a "Raiders" look... I'm asking this, because I'm waiting a payment for an illustration I did, and I want to use part of the money I will receive on your site! And I'm curious also about the shipping cost to Italy for the jacket (and another couple of small items). You can PM this answer if you feel more comfortable doing so Thanks in advance And... Harry, show us some pics!

Ramiel, I no longer own that jacket. I sold it a few weeks ago. I own a G&B Lambskin Indy jacket now.

Harry, show us some pics! honestly dude, id go for at least a medium maybe large just to be safe. Even this XXL seems a bit small still, maybe cause i wet it alot already and maybe it tightened some. I realize now i have trouble getting teh off the rack with working out. Alot of them too make the waist area bigger then i i need, thinking because i get a 48 i have a gut, and i dont. Im making the XXL work, its just going to get trashed, as best i can. I MIGHT still be into getting another jacket sometime though. Id love a lambskin in a really good size thats perfect for me. I would say another wested, but their troubles concern me, even though i never had issues. MY gioat is great i love it, but its a bit to much for warmer weather.

Ramiel, I'd try a Large. The medium is really meant for a 40" chest. Shipping to Italy should be about $30.
As far as XXXL - I don' think so. When you get that far from "medium", I think the fit problems are too great. Custom is the best way to go.
