Hey! Someone mentioned this in a post below, but since I've got a couple updates and pictures, I thought I would make a new entry for any discussion of the event. Indiana Jones and the Adventure of Archeology was announced officially on November 2nd--I was lucky enough to be at the press conference where they'd set up a bunch of "Top Secret" crates--featuring Indy's fedora on top! I didn't manage to get out with any props. They also played the exhibition's trailer... The exhibit opens in Montreal in April 2011, buuuuut will be embarking on a world tour shortly afterwards, so I'm pretty sure that a huge number of Indy fans will get the opportunity to check it out. Anyhow, as new information comes in, you can follow the fan countdown and get updates on Twitter here: www.twitter.com/IndyExhibition or join the Facebook Fan Page here: www.facebook.com/pages/Indiana-Jones-and-the-Adventure-of-Archaeology/169410763085130Anyone else planning to make the trip or hoping it comes to their neck of the woods?

The only thing that concerns me is the shoehorning of real history into Indiana Jones. Lucas has been doing this since Young Indy and we all know what a success that was.
Ah well, pet gripe of mine. I'd rather they'd use the floorspace for movie props and costumes.
Have you got a London venue yet?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I saw the Young Indy Chronicles before I saw Raiders for the first time, and it bored me to tears. It got me wondering why anybody would find this interesting. I think the only good thing that came from the boring Young Indy Chronicles was that it made Raiders THAT much better when I first saw it.

I'm a little nervouse they are trying to cash in on the Indy name and the actual exhibition will be alot archeology and not alot of Indy. I would be surprised if you saw more than a few random props and maybe a costume. I've been to exhibits like these and its usually the same. BUT hey this one could be different

I wouldn't worry about the archaeology elements overshadowing the pure Indy goodness! It's not just a name licensed by the Science center or the other responsible companies, it's Lucasfilm and the exhibit's got complete access to those archives. The National Geographic side will definitely mean a lot of real-life Archaeology, but it's in the same spirit as the Star Wars tour, if any of you guys were able to catch that one. No London venue yet, but the site will have updates whenever the whole location-scouting stuff is finalised.

Ooh! And hey, I've got a question while I'm here: what specific stuff -would- you most like to see in the exhibit?

Hmm... A Prop-Accurate Indy Gear giveaway and legal access to the complete musical score for all of the films. Steven

Full annotated Indy costumes from each of the films. Especially Raiders.
Then obviously as many original props as possible.
BTW the fans can tell! The hat on the crate is not a movie accurate one. It's probably a Dorfman Pacific is it not? The bound brim and C crown give it away.

I agree with all above. I want to see the arc the skull the Grail and the ACTUALL costumes wore and scripts and as much stuff as possible. But I'm still a little nervous... I'll keep an open mind though thanks for the info

I'd like to see screen-used gear from each of the films. I'd also like to see props from the films, like the Ark and Crystal Skulls, as well as scripts and storyboards.

Kt-- Don't worry! The crate/hat is not representative of anything, it was just part of the set-up for the conference, as part of the background with the posters. Stefana: Yep! Montrealer born and bred! Hello there! And that stuff sounds great--I'll try to keep updated on what's being added. Personally, I'm definitely leaning towards Last Crusade and Raiders stuff. I'm slightly surprised the skull was mentioned, but only because it's the first request for it I've heard so far. Ooh--and thanks for the warm welcome!

All of that stuff would be cool to see, but I was seriously suggesting the complete musical score. There really have been many tracks that aren't even available on bootlegs. I hope they do it. Steven

The Crystal Skull looks very cool. I'd certainly like to see it. I'd like to see any gear and props from the movies!

Imtheflash + Noah: That I can definitely agree with! The skull -is- a cool looking item and I do understand why you'd want to check it out in-the-flesh (well, okay, not quite 'flesh'). I'm thinking that it's probably a safe bet there, if only because it's such a big part of the fourth film. That and they probably won't be shipping the CGI monkeys. Maybe the fridge. Pennsylvania -- You're quite right about that. I think it's a matter of who owns what and what they think the fans want to see. It'd be nice if they'd go the way of, say, Harry Potter or The Dark Knight (two first examples to pop into my head) and release complete/expanded scores for everything. Stefana: You're right! Which is precisely why I'm trying to find more of them in the city! Are you a member of any local Indy/geek/cosplay groups?

It'd be nice if they'd go the way of, say, Harry Potter or The Dark Knight (two first examples to pop into my head) and release complete/expanded scores for everything. BTTF also released the complete musical score. The only unreleased tracks now are three songs (which you can get from other official sources) and the film version of Johnny B. Goode. 95% of the score isn't enough for me. I'll take what I can get, but it'd be nice to have more music than is released. Heck, some movies I like don't even HAVE soundtracks, like Scamper the Penguin or The Love Bug. I'm glad the complete Raiders Score is available on bootlegs, but the other Indy films don't have complete scores, official or otherwise. I REALLY hope soundtracks will become available for the above mentioned soundtrackless movies. Steven

Hey! Just popping back to say that there's a BIT of good news I can offer: the Ark and the Crystal Skull will both be a part of the exhibit, for those who had mentioned 'em.
