Got my boots from Todds two weeks ago, and have worn them ever since. I like the feel of the boot, and the sole has more grip than I expected. Each individual boot is heavier than I expected...are Aldens pretty heavy as well?

Loved the look and feel of them but I couldn't squeeze my foot in there comfortably, and I even ordered larger than I wear.
I am sending them back and getting yet another size larger, hopefully that will do it.
They seemed really heavy duty to me too, maybe a metal sole?

I got my boots last week and wore them on a hike this past weekend. They worked well-no blisters!. My only concern is how the lace hooks will hold up over time.

Hi Randy, I really like the colour of your boots, can you tell me what you used to re dye them most importantly the actual colour of the dye would be very helpful. Norm

My Todd's boots arrived at my front door today and I have been wearing them ever since they left the box. I am liking them... I am REALLY liking them. I am going to be wearing them a lot within the next couple of weeks and I will report back here on how well they hold up.

Make sure you get sole protectors put on to save the sole.

I'm not sure now much exactly, but they're around 2lbs each. They are a heavy boot. I don't wear mine as much as I used to because I need the heels repaired and one of the lace hooks replaced. I also wear foam pads in the heel as there's something in the heel that digs into my feet and is agony to walk in without the pads. Other than that, great boot. LMAO!

How is the sizing issue? I wear a US size 10...should I order a 10, 11 or 12?

i have my todds boots and i love them , i did have to take them in to the shoe repair guy in town to have him put in shoe guards on the soles of my shoes so they wouldn't wear out.

Cheers all. I got my Todds Boots today. They are awesome. Not as heavy as I thought, (my Red Wings are much heavier) The leather seems to be a very soft goatskin. I have a few vintage style jackets, including a goatskin Cooper A-2, and it seems to be the same. They have padding inside it and although I ordered a 7, the size says 9A, which may be a foreign manufacturer sizing. Nice color, sharp looking and very cool.

i have had my boots for over a year now and they have held up extremely well, no cracks in my soles as i had put sole guards on them and i think that has helped alot . great boots, and when todds comes out with new boots i will most definetly buy those too.

Indyclone25, yes, I did the same, just brought them to my man Frank the Cobbler. He will be putting sole guards on them and told me it was a great idea to do it now since they were new and not worn, as it would have been harder to do. And only 8 bucks!

Hi all, amending my earlier Coyles.... After only a week, the glue around the sole chipped, the heel wore out faster than anything I've seen. Sold them on ebay!!

I thought you guys would get a kick out of my one of a kind , prototype Todd's boots. I was told that they were a rejected prototype. They appear to be a copy of the Alden 403's. The differences between these and my Coyles Outdorrsman boots are: Full leather lining. Leather welt around edge of soul. Brick Red color w/ black edge binding. Heavier speed hooks. The heel appears to be made out of 2 pieces of stacked leather, one hard rubber piece, and a vibram style heel protector. They were a bit narrower than my old boots, but, nothing an antique shoe stretcher couldn't fix.

todd's update on his new boots!!!here is what is on the website , Yep! They're stitching them right now, and they work fast, and that means they'll be here very soon. In fact, they may ship any day now.
If you're reading this, you've been waiting a long time for these!
Let me tell you about them. First off, these are TOP OF THE LINE quality! I'm so impressed with the materials, leather, finish, shape, etc. I'd put these up against the expensive brand any day! Real Goodyear welt construction with leather storm welt that splices with a plain welt at the heel. The welt is stitched completely through the top quality rubber sole. In addition, the midsole is NAILED to the insole. The authentic orthopedic heel is NAILED to the insole as well, completely though all layers of the heel. You'll note that we're dying the leather spacer on the heel black so it doesn't glare at you. The speed lace hooks are the strongest I've seen! Wow!
"Okay, so they're built like a tank, but how do they feel?" The upper leather is beautiful, supple top grain cowhide with a waxy finish and great feel. The inside is completely leather lined - the toe is lined in soft pigskin, and the rest is lined with glove-soft calfskin. The insole is genuine leather. I'm telling you, you're going to weep for joy when you get these!
And guess what? HALF SIZES this time!
We're taking pre-orders because so many people have been eagerly awaiting these boots, they're going to sell out fast! Grab your pair now!
Oh, yeah - one thing. The photo is of a production sample. Color may vary slightly, and hardware and laces will be better than what is seen on the sample. so check it folks the boots will be $149.95
